Un-intended: chapter twelve

My grandmother told me the best way to calm nerves, was to dab lavender oil scented behind your ears and on your wrist. I kept that trick with me throughout life. I'd always have a roll-on of lavender oil in my person.

Granted, I'm not sure if it worked, but my grandma alwards smelled liked lavender. So whenever I got a whiff of the smell, it always calmed me down. It reminded me of memories of her. Back to the simple when I had not a care in the world.

"So there are two types of adoptions we offer. Would you like an open or closed one?" The lady questioned as she stacked the pile of papers together.

I fiddled with my hands. "Closed please. I would prefer a closed one. And a family who wants twins. I don't want them to be separated."

"Of course." She nodded. "We are in the beginning of this process, but we'll start screening for parents. I will send you an email of when our next appointment is. I'm sending home a folder with more information."

I nodded while standing up. My body felt cold. Was I doing the right thing?

"Happy ten weeks." Jorja said before pushing over the small cake. "Okay so, at ten weeks, the baby is as big as a strawberry. So..."

She said while drumming on the table.

"I made a strawberry cake!" She exclaimed.

"You're actually the sweetest person on earth." I smiled before giving her a hug. "I don't know what I would do without you."

"Awe Lulu. Don't go sappy on me." Jorja smiled.

"Great, so what first?"

In which we filmed videos the entire shift. Buisness was slow anyways. Dallas had me learning dances and random audios. I can't even count how many videos we made, I was just exhausted.

Arriving back home felt like a reward. I walked into the kitchen, pulling out a few ingredients. My phone buzzed and I picked it up.

"Hello?" I questioned while grabbing a pan.

"Luna?"

"Luca? Lemme guess, you need another cake."

"No. I was just calling to check up on you."

"Oh! I'm great, I'm actually about to prepare dinner." I said. "Oh wait you mean the babies, lol. I think they're good."

"Got room for one more?"

"Uh yeah! Sure! I'll send you my address." I said.

"Cool."

I hung up the phone. Luca wanted to come over. Luca wanted to come over? I don't know why, but that excited me.

Luca and I had been talking more ever since the night he was drunk. He'd check up on me or beg me for a cake. He raved about how great it was.
We were slowly, but surely starting to become friends.

Lola walked into the kitchen grabbing her computer.

"Hi." I muttered.

"Hey." She said softly.

"I'm making dinner, if you want to stick around."

"I'm good." She said before walking out.

"Fine."

"Salmon croquet with remoulade sauce served with rice." I placed down the plate in front of him.
