Sitting on their couch, Y/n let the television play as they massaged their sore muscles. Exerting themself to try out new agility type moves was straining on their body. The last thing they wanted was a torn ligament from their carelessness.
On the coffee table in front of them was various oils and lotions: the essentials for an at-home-healing-massage. They sat in shorts and an oversized wife beater with no underwear underneath. Being alone in their home allowed for such comfortability. It was relieving after wearing the gym uniform all day.
The news was playing in the background as they rubbed their hands over their thigh. The scent of peppermint filled the room as the oils seemed to burn the skin it was applied to. The sensation sunk into their leg, soothing the stiffness from the day. It was hot, then cold, then relaxing.
"...still unknown as to when exactly it happened, but the Hero Killer had found another victim."
Y/n glanced up at the screen, their hands still circling over their thigh. The movements slowed as they narrowed their eyes on the news.
"Pro Hero Ingenium was found half-dead in a back alley in Hosu city."
They completely stopped their motions as the station displayed a picture of the pro hero. Without his bulky helmet, he strongly resembled one of their classmates. Even with the helmet, their costumes were similar.
Y/n muted the TV and grabbed their phone for a quick internet search.
Iida Tensei.
"Oh god..." they muttered, discarding their phone on the couch. Their eyes stared at the silent television as more images of the pro hero were shown. It was to depict him as more than just a hero. But he wasn't just some distant public figure. That is Iida's older brother currently on his deathbed. It explained his sudden disappearance at the sports festival.
Yet when they went to school after two days, he was there like normal. Like nothing happened.
Y/n watched him talk to Midoriya and Uraraka. Under his eyes, a shadow formed from eyebags that weren't there before. He was stiffer than usual which only made him resemble a brick wall even more. However, his by the book personally didn't change. He was as polite as ever. There was just distant look behind his gaze.
Sighing from their desk, Y/n shut their eyes. "Figures..." they muttered. Of course he doesn't want to express his troubles with the troublesome class. They would make it an even bigger deal than it already is.
They had been watching him all morning before class. Nothing seemed too off about him.
Y/n opened their eyes. Dropping their head on their desk, they groaned at how weird that sentence was.
"What's up with you already?" Kaminari asked, taking his seat next to them.
"You still exhausted after the sports festival? I can loan you some more muscle relaxers," Kirishima offered as he walked past to his desk behind Kaminari. "Bath salts in warm water help a lot."
Leaving their face against their desk, Y/n muttered, "Thanks, Red."
Kirishima sat in his seat and dropped his bag next to his feet. He looked up at Y/n and held up a relaxed fist. "We have to remember to take care of our bodies if we want to be heroes."
