Y/N's Perspective
I nervously wait for Sebastian to say something while he stares down at the note I wrote him. I am trembling in my seat in anticipation. I have essentially poured my feelings for him into that note and now I sit in silence as he stares at it.
He finally looks up at me and I notice his eyes are glassy. Did I make him cry? Shit! That is the last thing I wanted to do.
I move my chair closer to Sebastian and place my hand on his back. I am taken by surprise when I feel my feet suddenly leave the ground. Sebastian picked me up from my seat and is hugging me tightly. He buries his face in the crook of my neck as he holds me up.
He whispers in a shaky voice, "You are perfect in every way too Y/n. I don't know how to express to you how appreciative I am for this."
I wrap my arms around him and revel in his embrace. I feel relief rush over me. He likes my present, he actually likes it. There is no denying that Sebastian has feelings for me. I do not care if they are not as strong as mine, feelings are feelings.
Sebastian places me back down on the ground and releases me. We sit back down at the table and he places his hands in mine, rubbing my knuckles with his thumb.
"I am really glad you like it Sebastian. I was a little worried to be honest" I say softly.
"Why would you be worried?" Sebastian scoffs. "This is the best present I have ever received. I am going to read it every day. It makes me think of you."
I blush at the idea. "Sebastian, you are going to get tired of it if you read it every day."
His grip on my hands tightens as he pulls them closer to him. "That is not true. You are essentially saying I will get tired of you, and that will never happen Y/n."
My heart flutters at the comment. I need to tell him how I feel. Who knows when the next opportunity will come along.
I open my mouth to say something, but I stop when I notice Sirona walking up behind us with a tray in hand.
Sebastian turns around to see what I was looking at quizzically. "Oh hello Sirona! Look what Y/n and Professor Fig got me for my birthday." He holds up the book and tie proudly.
"Oh A Tale of Two Cities. That's a good one! Seems Y/n knows you very well" she smiles.
Sebastian smiles as Sirona places the tray in front of us. Sebastian examines the items and looks up at me with a mischievous grin. In front of us was a bottle of whiskey and two small glasses. I look at Sirona confused. I am not eighteen, she has to know that. I cannot drink.
"Y/n you are eighteen right?" Sirona asks me as she flashes me a wink.
I may be good with a wand, but I did not understand what she was trying to do at first. I furrow my brows at her. "Actually no I am not. I turn eighteen on Halloween."
Sirona lets out a frustrated sigh. Sebastian quickly interjects. "No Y/n you mixed that up. You told me you are turning nineteen on Halloween."
I finally catch on to what they are doing. "Right! Sorry about that. Professors have been loading me down with assignments, so my mind is a little scattered."
