Chapter 22: Pioneer Day... Again?

Mabel gasped, "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT LOVE IS STUPID!?" There was total silence afterward, but then Giffany commented, "I love Soos.!?" Mabel turned to Giffany, "Girl, you need to move on! Soos had a girlfriend!" Mabel grabbed Giffany by her wrist and dragged her away, saying to her, "We're going to find you a new boyfriend! And I am the best matchmaker out here!" Giffany was silent as a confused pancake. Mabel and Giffany were out of the scene. I-I remember this...

Stan took a small sip of his soda, and remarked out of the blue, "'Ya know kid, today is Pioneer Day. June 18 as always." Dipper said, "What?" You looked at Dipper with concern and said, "Dipper?" Stan took a very long sip of his soda before explaining, "Every year these Yahoos dress up like idiots to celebrate the day Gravity Falls was founded." You responded, "I think I've heard of such a thing before..." Dipper nervously stood silent and pulled out a very old-looking key. You looked at it in confusion until Stan decided to share his experience, "I got thrown in the stocks and got tomatoes thrown at my face." You stood silent too.

Stan rolled his eyes, "But... Since you're new to Gravity Falls, I guess it wouldn't hurt to show you around on Pioneer Day..."

"NO!" You and Dipper yelled to Stan at the same moment. A strange silence arose as you and Dipper looked at each other with concerned and confused faces. Stan said, "Oh? Well, lucky me... I hate Pioneer Day. I won't have to walk out there!" Stan took another sip of his Pitt Cola. You and Dipper stood quietly and then Dipper said, "Can you excuse us for a moment?" Stan looked at Dipper, "You're excused."

You and Dipper went behind the Mystery Shack. Dipper looked down, "I knew it! I knew this morning felt strangely familiar!" You looked away from Dipper, "Dipper... Didn't we already go through June 18 together?" Dipper's mouth dropped, "Yes! Yes, we did!" You gasped, "I knew there was something nostalgic about this morning!" Dipper asked, "Y/N, do you still have that camera?" "The one that was supposed to be a present?" Dipper shouted happily, "Yes! That one!" Your mouth dropped too, and you pulled the camera out of your pocket. Dipper looked at it, and with an instant, "H-How!?" You look at him, "Remember that deep crater thing?" Dipper nodded, "Yeah. After you jumped in, I pushed Gideon out of spite and jumped down with you." You commented, "I think it was caused by the portal gun machine thing. I think it might've caused/been some sort of wormhole that caused us to be transported at the very beginning of the day!" You commented, "I think we're stuck in some sort of loophole!" Dipper said, "Doesn't that mean that- that McGucket is still building that machine!?" You paused and nodded. Dipper gasped, "Doesn't that mean that..." "We will have to stop McGucket from building/activating that machine," You said. Dipper said, "We will have to break the loophole!" "But how?.." You asked. Dipper stood in deep thought, "The crater was caused by McGucket's machine. So we will need to warn him about it!" "But will he believe us?" You asked. Dipper smiled, "Y/N! You still have that camera! You can show him the footage of what happened!" You gasped, "You're right!" "Let's go now, no time to waste!" You grabbed Dipper by his collar before he ran off. "Wait won't it be a good idea to grab Grunkle Ford along? I mean- they're friends. I think McGucket would believe him. He didn't even meet us yet in this timeline." Dipper paused and thought about it, "You're not wrong..."

You went inside the Mystery Shack and yelled, "GRUNKLE FORD!" He came almost tumbling from downstairs, "Yes, Y/N? What's the matter? Do you need to fight an alien octopus or something?" Dipper shouts, "What? No! We need you to come with us!" Ford came down the stairs properly, and that's when you noticed that he had random ash on his face. You decided not to question him about it but instead asked, "Are you busy?" "No, not really. I was just trying to build something with Mabel." Mabel comes up from upstairs, "Hi, guys! Grunkle Ford and I were trying to make a smoke machine!" Ford shook his head and turned to you, "And as you see by the ash on my face, it didn't go too well." Mabel went back inside her room. Ford sighs, "I guess I could come. What for?" You shout, "Dipper and I actually come from the future! Fiddleford McGucket is trying to build a portal gun thing. He messes up in his space-time calculations and accidentally makes a doomsday machine!" Dipper adds, "A wormhole appeared because of it and it send us back to today morning! We're stuck in a time loop and the only way to stop it is to stop McGucket from building the machine!"
