"Why is it so hard to make you want to marry me?" Jaehyuk asked. "I have the look. I have the money that you liked so much. I have the power. I am even your employer. I basically own the company that you're working at. Aren't you worried if I will someday fire you from your position? I can actually do that. And you still acted like you didn't care about me even a bit when I'm around?"
"First of all. I know that you are not that low to fire people just because they don't satisfy your personal demands," Asahi said. "If not, you won't be as successful as you are now. Considering how many people are trying to drag you down,"
"Wow. I'm touched," Jaehyuk said. "Aren't you just assuming? You said yourself that we don't even know each other that well,"
"A simple search on the internet will give me every single detail of your life, Yoon CEO. You're a public figure. It doesn't really require much effort," Asahi said. He then continues to eat while Jaehyuk just sits there, staring at him. Asahi just tried his best not to mind the CEO of his company sitting in front of him while he's eating during lunch time. Actually, there are times Asahi thinks that accepting his boss's proposal will make his life a thousand times better than he is now. But rationally thinking, it's absurd.
There's no way that he can be with a perfect Alpha like Yoon Jaehyuk. It's just a crazy idea for Jaehyuk to suddenly decide to marry an imperfect Omega like himself. There's nothing Asahi can give to Jaehyuk. He's not wealthy enough. In fact, he's struggling a lot financially. He's not even someone that has a title or a position that could match Jaehyuk. Asahi doesn't think that he can show a lot of affection toward Jaehyuk either. And the last thing that possibly makes Jaehyuk want to marry him is the fact that he's an Omega. But Asahi knows very well that he's not a perfect Omega for years already. He probably couldn't bear any kid with his current body. That's why Asahi just wants to forget about it and reject Jaehyuk's proposal. Because nothing will actually work if he ever accepts the proposal anyway.
Jaehyuk kept on staring at Asahi. He just ordered a cup of green tea. Asahi wanted to ask why Jaehyuk didn't order anything to eat. But he keeps asking that question by himself because who does he want to know about it? After Asahi finished his food, Jaehyuk quickly stood up and walked toward the counter. He paid for Asahi orders as well as his. Jaehyuk then waited for Asahi in front of the entrance.
"Give me the receipt, I'll pay for my food," Asahi said.
"I don't want to," Jaehyuk said. "Didn't you see? I'm trying to bribe you,"
"Seriously?"
"Yoon CEO-nim. The meeting will start in about an hour. If we don't go now, we might not make it there before the meeting starts," Yedam suddenly approached Jaehyuk. Asahi noticed that Bang Yedam was waiting in the car right in front of the restaurant this whole time. Asahi couldn't believe that Jaehyuk had a meeting scheduled for him in a few hours in another prefecture but decided to hang out around Asahi while trying to ask him to marry him instead of preparing himself for the meeting.
"Go back to work. Work hard but don't overworked yourself," Jaehyuk said while walking toward the car. Asahi just sighed. He really feels that he doesn't deserve Jaehyuk. But Jaehyuk is weird too for being this dedicated to marrying him.
Asahi took out his phone when his phone vibrated. He's receiving a call from one of his grandmother's neighbors.
"Yes, Mrs Honda?"
"Hii-kun! Your obasan,"
°
"Your grandmother is stable now. But her health is not so good. Please make sure that she'll get enough rest after she gets discharged later. But for now, we still need to monitor her condition after she wakes up. If there's no problem with it, she'll get discharged in three days," Dr Nakamura said.
