"Do you think Iris is okay?" Enid asked Ella who was sitting at a table in the quad.

The shapeshifter glanced around her, aware that Iris could literally be right behind them. That girl could sneak up on literally anyone. "I don't know. She seemed pretty shaken up yesterday. Didn't talk much, but then again she doesn't talk much in general."

Enid hummed, lost in her thoughts. "I'm worrier about her. That attack seemed to affect her really badly."

"You worried about your girlfriend?" Ella teased, brushing her hair behind her ear and taking a bite out of her bagel.

"Shut up!" Enid said, getting up and walking over to Yoko as Ella quickly followed her.

"Remind me why we picked bee-keeping again?" Iris grumbled as they walked towards the bee-keeping shed.

"Because Weems has practically been on top of us to try and get us to do some form of extracurricular." Wednesday reminded her, and the other Addams sister sighed.

"Right. Weems. Again."

They stopped outside the run-down shed, and Iris nearly jumped out of her skin when a voice came from behind her.

"Are either of you interested in the ancient art of beekeeping?" It asked, and the two spun around, met with a young boy, "Eugene. Eugene Ottinger. Founder and President of the Nevermore Hummers."

He held out his hand for one of them to shake, Wednesday taking it.

"Wednesday. Wednesday Addams." She said, "This is my sister, Iris. Are we late, or is it only you?"

Eugene looked around him sadly, seeing how little people had turned up. "The hive life isn't for everyone." He begrudgingly told them, "Most kids are afraid of venomous insects. Are you willing to feel the sting?"

A small smile came across the two's face as they glanced at each other. Eugene opend the doors to the shed, showing the two where they could get changed into their beekeeping outfits.

"Weds, I hate this." Iris told her as she pulled her hat over her head.

"It's only for a while, and then we can tell Weems that we tried but we didn't like it." Wednesday reminded her, making her way towards the door to go back to Eugene.

Iris sighed. She really, really, hated bees.

"Bees have been priducing honey the same way for over 150 million years." Eugene told them, "They're nature's perfect community. All working together to achieve a common goal."

Iris turned her head slightly, seeing Thing out of the corner of her eyes. She nudged Wednesday, and gestured over to him, guessing it was something to do with her investigation about Rowan.

"Fun fact, it's also one of the few ecosystems in which females dominate." Eugene conitnued, having not seen the interaction between the sisters. Thing gestured for Wednesday to come closer towards him, climbing down the back of the bench, "From the queen bee, to her workers. There's no patriarchy in the hive!"

"Probably the only place with no patriarchy." Iris joked, and Eugene turned around to grin at her, knly to see that Wednesday had snuck off somewhere.
