"Appa is not a thing" I snap glaring at him.
"This is Appa, my flying bison" Aang tells him.
"Right, and this is Katara, my flying sister" the boy says sarcastically. I do not like his attitude. Aang looks questioningly at Sokka for a moment, but his attention is diverted back toward his bison when Appa starts to inhale deeply. Realizing what is about to happen, Aang ducks before Appa sneezes, sending a large blast of green snot flying directly onto the boy. I laugh.
"Don't worry, it'll wash out" Aang assures him. "So do you guys live around here?" he asks them. The boy points a spear at him and I knock it out of his hand.
"Don't threaten my baby brother" I tell him.
"The paranoid one is my brother, Sokka. You never told us your names" Katara states.
"I'm Kamali" I tell her. Aang sneezes, creating an air blast that sends him soaring into the air. He lands on the ground, unharmed.
"I'm Aang" he answers as the other two look at him surprised.
"You just sneezed and flew ten feet in the air!" Sokka exclaims.
"Really? It felt higher than that" Aang states looking up at the sky.
"I would have said closer to fifteen feet" I tell him.
"Yeah, that sounds right" Aang agrees.
"You're an air-bender!" Katara exclaims in delight.
"We both are" I tell her.
"Giant light beams, flying bison, air-benders. I think I got midnight sun madness. I'm going home to where stuff makes sense" Sokka tells us. He looks at the water and I see no boat. I fly onto Appa using air bending.
"Well, if you guys are stuck, Appa, Kamali and I can give you a lift" Aang offers. Air bending himself on to Appa. It was agreed we'd take them home. Appa didn't want to fly, guess he is still tired. So he swims back to their home. Aang is on Appa's head as I chill behind him in the saddle. When Katara comes over to us, as Sokka sleeps. The sun was setting on the horizon.
"Hey" she says.
"Hey" we say back.
"What'cha thinkin' about?" Aang asks her curious.
"I guess I was wondering, you both being air-benders and all, if either of you had any idea what happened to the Avatar?" she asks. I share a look with Aang. It's up to him if he wants to tell them he is the avatar.
"Oh, no. We didn't know him. I mean, we knew people that knew him, but we didn't. Sorry" Aang tells her.
"Okay. Just curious" she states. She slants her eyes in disappointment for a second before smiling again at Aang and I. Wishing us both a god night.
"Sleep tight" Aang tells her. She smiles and dozes off beside her brother.
"You should sleep too Aang" I tell him.
"I'm ok" he assures me.
"Aang, sleep" I instruct. He sighs and we swap places I air bend a blanket over him. He falls asleep. I stir Appa through the night and soon saw the lights of the water tribe. I have him land and wake Sokka. We carry Katara and I into the village. He leads me to a vacant tent, saying Aang and I could use it before leaving. I laid Aang down and covered him in furs to keep him warm and join him. I soon doze off.
I had a nightmare about the storm we were in. When I woke, I could tell Aang had the same dream. I hugged him. Katara comes in and smiles at seeing us awake. "Good morning" she says. "Everyone's waiting to meet you both" she tells us.
