I continued cleaning
"Yeah, I had plans"
But he understood
"Taking a fan girl on a date?" I asked walking towards the equipment room
"No, I was going to watch some videos, to prepare myself for tomorrow's match" oikawa walked in after me, putting away the rest of the things.
When I turn around I bump into him
"Sorry" I said. I wanted to walk past him but he stopped me
"Is that how you knew I was injured yesterday?" He asked
I slowly nod my head "you were hesitant"
"For one second" he said before he smiled "keeping a close eye on me. You're clearly not blind, since you clearly can't seem to stop staring at me" he smiled
I scoff as I push past him "whatever" I went to pick my bag up
"Hey wait up!" He called out but I ignored him and kept walking. The light behind me dissapeared and the door closed and after that footsteps came up from behind me
"I hope your little date goes good" I said without struggling
"It's not a date"
"Then why not reject the offer" I kept walking
"It's complicated. Our parents are close" oikawa finally caught up, trying to ease his breathing. I did 't say anything before I stopped
"I get it, you don't have to follow me"
"I live in this direction" Oikawa said as he turned to look at me
I couldn't get any words out so I just kept walking.
"Well then see you" he said stopping. I stop for a second to look at his house, and it looks fancy "are you coming to the game tomorrow"
"No, sorry" I said "goodnight"
"Yeah" is all he said as he went inside and I made my way towards my house. When I got home my mom wasn't here
'Probably working night shift' I thought as I went to the kitchen, seeing food and a note. I smile as I warm it up before heading to bed
Oikawa pov:
After I got home I tried to convince my parents not to go
"Oikawa we can't decline an invitation" my mother said after fixing my dad's tie. She turned to look at me and grabbed my cheek "besides it's time to change your routine, it's always the same"
"And I like it like that" I frowned causing my mother to smile
"You'll get wrinkles if you keep doing that" my mother turns to my dad "and you dad hasn't had time off in a while"
"Exactly so we should spend some time with dad, here, at our house"
My dad laughed "oh, come on Tooru"
My parents make their way towards the car and I scoff
"So how are things going at school?" My mother asked as we turn into the street Yuki lives
"Same old, we have a game tomorrow" I said "and we got a new student"
"Really, isn't it a bit too late?" My mother said
"That's what I thought when I first saw her"
"What's her name?" My dad looked at me through the rear view mirror, lifting his eyebrows with a small smile on his face
"What?" I asked but my dad didn't say anything "her name is y/n and she's deaf"
"Deaf?" My mom asked just as my dad parked the car
"Yeah" I got out of the car
"Well is she nice?" My mother asked "is she pretty?"
"Mom" I said and my mother smiled. My dad came towards us and took my mom by her arm
"Let's go"
We rang the door bell and Yuki's mom opened it, looking a bit too formal for this dinner...and revealing to much for my taste
We went inside and sat down. Yuki wasn't sitting at the table, so her mom was about to send me to call her but then she arrived. Even now, she is still very beautiful
Yuki's mom brought out the dinner, which tasted nice
"So how's the volleyball, Yuki tells me you're the star player" yuki's mom put down her glass of wine and turned to look at me
"Did she?" I look at Yuki who looked at me with a sweet smile
"And are you still top in your classes?" Yuki's mom asked
"Only in maths, English and Japanese Literature" I said
"Well it's 3 more than Yuki" her mother laughed and I look at Yuki who just pretend to be interested in her food "well keep it up Oikawa"
"Thank you ma'am"
