Oikawa x fem reader

Y/n pov:

I got my Japense literature test back. I pick up my paper and show oikawa

75%

I had a grin on my face. Oikawa gave me a thumbs up and looks happy.

"Thank you" I sign and he smiles, but I see his eyes drift behind me. I turn to look at Yuki and she blew him a kiss. She turns to look at me giving me an evil smile

I was confused. I turn to look at Oikawa again and he averts his eyes

'Are they back together' I thought 'but the other day he-'

My thoughts got interrupted when the teachers calls for me

"Can you read the next part"

"Excuse me?" I said confused as I grab my book. I don't know where we are previously...I've kinda been dozing off

"Mr Kiyoshi asked you to read" Yuki snickered next to me. The person infront of me showed me where to start

I stood up and started reading

"Speak up" Yuki said. I take a deep breath before I continue but I fell over my own words

"That's good thank you y/n" I roughly drop my book on my table as I take a seat.

By the time it was lunch I walk out of the class and head for the cafeteria. I see Tenshi and make my way towards the table

"Y/n" Tenshi smiled when she saw me "are you joining us?"

"Actually I wanted to talk to Iwa" I turn to look at him. He was confused but nods as he stood up

We left the cafeteria and I make my way towards my usual vending machine. I get myself something before turning to look at Iwa

"Don't get me wrong" I said "but I want to ask you about Oikawa and Yuki"

Iwa raised her brow "why?"

"I think they're back together"

"That idiot" Iwa's eyebrow twitched

"You're his best friend, can I ask what their relationship was like. I mean the other day he asked you to punch him, so that he won't get back with Yuki. Even his nephew, Takeru, said they were toxic"

Iwa sigh "they were, from our perspective, but to Oikawa it meant everything" Iwa takes out some money also getting himself something

"At first it was great, but after a while Oikawa just started isolating himself from us. At practice he was way harder on himself and every-time Yuki came and watched him practice, he would mess up. We asked him about it and he said that Yuki saw this sport as a waste of his time, so he tried to convince her otherwise. After that she got really jealous and possessiveness. She tried to control his social interactions, activities, and appearance. She monitored his whereabouts, demanded constant attention, and accused him without evidence."

Iwa took a bite of his food "Yuki started dismissing Oikawa's concerns, invalidated his feelings, and blamed him for problems in the relationship. She even said I wanted her all to myself that's why I tried to convince him to break up with her. This caused us to have a huge fight once in the gym. After that Oikawa started doing the same towards her, and that led to constant arguing. She tried to turn the blame on him and after that we constantly tried to get between them. Finally they broke up"

Iwa sighs before he continues "After that Oikawa got a really low self-esteem and he still felt emotionally attached to her, but he never really tried to face those feelings. He's solution was for me to punch him"

"Did he try talking to his parents, I'm sure if they knew they would have stayed away, and stop those family-friend dinners"

"Like I said he never faced those feeling" Iwa said "and I guess those feelings caught up with him now and he returned to the source. The thing is Yuki's never going to change, not until she faces her own problems head on as well"

I nod "thank you"

"There's only one reason I told you. I hope you can help us this time to get him out of that relationship...once and for all"

"How?" I ask "if he doesn't even listen to his best friend-"

"Maybe he needs to hear it from someone else" Iwa shrugged "who knows?"

He threw away his trash "I just hope this time we get it done sooner, I'm afraid of what type of person he might become if we don't"

The bell rang

"Well see you" Iwa walked past me. I stood there for a while before I head back to class

After school, when it was time for the boy's volleyball, I see Yuki standing in the gym. I ignore her and make my way towards Tenshi

"Looks like the snake is back" Tenshi scoffed as she crossed her arms. I turn to look at Oikawa and see him talking to Iwa before he just turned around.

Once he saw me he frowned but continued with his practice. Yuki stayed there the whole  practice, she even waited for him

Tenshi and I stayed behind like usual to clean. I hear someone walk towards me

"What business is it of you?" Oikawa asks. I turn to look at him "you went to Iwa"

"Yeah I did" I said "I don't think Yuki-"

"That's up to me to decide" he said

I sigh "you need to confront these feeling and you need to realise that this was never good for you"

Oikawa scoff "what do you know?"

"I know that the person you were once we met and the person I spent  all that time with isn't the same person that's standing infront of my right now" I turn around "reach out to us" is all I said as I walked away, going to put the equipment away

When I returned I see he wasn't there anymore and neither was Yuki.

I left and head home. Once I reached my house I open the door to my house and take off my shoes

"Welcome home sweetheart" my mom said.

"Mom can I ask you something?" I ask and my mom hums in response "why do people stay in toxic relationships"

My mom thought about it for a while before she replied "maybe they hope that their partner may change. There's also the fear of being lonely. One thing is for sure though it's really hard getting rid of a toxic relationship"

I nod "have you been in one before?"

My mom laughs "yeah, before I met your dad. He was actually the one who got me out of it. It was hard and I went back multiple times but I was never happier once I got away"

"How did you end it?"

"Well the person moved away, so it made it easier after a while" my mom said

It's not like I can get Yuki to move away

"And I had support the whole time, I just always chose to ignore it" my mom shook her head

"I see" I said
