If you must know. And it is not necessarily in my best interests to tell you of this story of which I care very little for. I will speak of my accountant of whom works closely with my assets in which I do, if you have not noticed already am much greater in this form of work than most. If you were to inquire of such it would be almost impossible to count in just a few weeks or even months as it is not just in my vault that I carry enough gold to buy the lands of this continent and others many times over, but hold many other greater financial surpluses that would bewilder one's mind. Be surprised if you must.
And still, this accountant of whom I speak of was once only a servant under my father. He at some point gained his favor and was given the necessities to begin his education at a young age despite his family coming from extreme poverty. You would think such a thing would bless him with gratitude but he, even up until now, still desires to do such work for a fee. I would if it were of my own choosing reward such behavior with a free board in a dungeon beneath. He would still work of not his own choosing of course. However, it would greatly amuse me to know that such a man could learn to not desire things that so rightfully belonging to my own person.
To my knowledge I am unsure of exactly when this occurred but under my butler's careful supervision, I was able to learn what was needed to become an accountant and am very capable of doing so if need be. It may surprise you that I have been asked by few if not more to be of help with those who were at some point or another struggling with their own taxes. A scary thought as in times past a few have been thrown into a small room for a time for their mistakes. A pity. If at any point I would have cared for their well being, I may have helped them in their distress, but it only opened the doors for my own coffers to be renewed and replenished.
Property bought at less then its actual value is of great interest to me. I am sure those others once in prison are still very much well feed and taken care of. So, it is not for me to worry about what has come about for them. And I am sure their children are taken care of well enough. The streets have plenty of food to eat so their children, I do believe are fine. I have seen them at peace or in town with paint and ink as they frolicked on the outsides of the gigantic wall so cleverly built to keep the riff raft and trouble away. It is said that my accountant at times does bless these less fortunate with whatever funds he has acquired from work that I have allowed. So in a sense you could say that I have blessed them as well. Although it would be better to have them as servants under my watchful eye and control.
