Aidan searches but studied her face to what the man asked her out of frustration and anger. Obviously, there was a lot of Aidan wanted to say to Greenlee when he heard about her return to Pine Valley, but she didn't even have the nerve to visit him. Whether that was because of Kendall, Zach or whomever, the man thought Greenlee would at least have an open mind to see Aidan. But none of that mattered now, what mattered was the now and the conversation between to ex-lovers who have so much history against each other.
Aidan – What's wrong Greenlee? Cat got your tongue? Why Greenlee? Why keep me in the dark? WHY!? ANSWER ME GREENLEE!
Aidan banged the side of the bed he was laying on while looking at Greenlee who was surprised to see this anger from the man she once loved and could of became her husband if not for other factors.
Greenlee – Aidan, calm down alright? You're right though, I should of came to you the moment I resurfaced in Pine Valley with David, but I didn't and for that I am sorry. A lot happened with my return to town and everything else which took place.
Aidan chuckled and shook his head.
Aidan – You're sorry luv? After everything we've been through? I think you could say more than just 'I am sorry Aidan', more like I am sorry for being such a deceitful, hurtful, lying, no good-
Greenlee – Know what Aidan, stop, just stop alright? Don't push it. At least I didn't kidnap a good woman who was accused of something she didn't do and tried to kill her. I get it...you're hurting right now and if you want to lash out at me, then fine...go for it. Call me all kinds of names in the book...I can take it...after losing Ryan, how much more can I lose at his point?
Aidan – What happened? Ryan left you already? Don't worry Greenlee, you'll ALWAYS come back to him and hurt the next man you turn to-
Greenlee – Ryan's dead, Aidan.
Aidan was taken aback and shook his head. he had no idea about Ryan's death until now.
Aidan – Wait a minute, Ryan Lavery is dead? No freaking way, is this some kind of joke or something?
Greenlee – No, it's not. We were having an event at the Chandler Mansion, but someone decided to take out Ryan, Marissa and a couple others with a weapon in their hand.
Aidan shook his head.
Aidan – And he's gone? Just like that? He's gone? Who the hell would kill them?
Greenlee – It doesn't matter at this point Aidan; Ryan is dead, and I have no other man to love. Why the hell am I even saying this to you?
Aidan – I.... I don't know what to say Greenlee. I'm sorry you lost Ryan; he was a good man who didn't deserve to die.
Greenlee – Thank you but honestly, I don't need you or anyone feeling sorry for me Aidan. Look, I need to get back to my family right now but...I wish you the very best moving forward.
Aidan – Greenlee, wait...
But before he could say anything, Greenlee left the room, and Aidan was in the hospital bed all by himself. Aidan was alone for the time being but the conversation between himself and Greenlee was rough. It could have been much better due to Aidan letting his anger get the best of him, but he's someone that doesn't hold back when telling the hard truth. He could have been way worse, Aidan just hoped Greenlee didn't take offence to what he said. At the same time, Greenlee is just grieving the loss of losing a loved one.
---------------------------------------------------------
Leaving Aidan's room, Greenlee leaned back next to the open door outside his room with her eyes closed. Feeling the tears again flowing down from her eyes onto those cheeks, Greenlee breathed in and breathed out. She needed a moment to collect herself after that intense conversation with Aidan since it's the first time Greenlee has seen him. Remembering the words that came out of his mouth, the anger written all over his face, it felt like a different Aidan. Maybe she needed to let him heal on his own but then suddenly a voice approached her.
Voice – Greenlee?
Greenlee looks up as Anna who placed a hand on her shoulder.
Anna – Is everything alright?
Greenlee – Anna, um...I am sorry you must see me like this. I just came back from seeing Aidan, Ryan's gone, and it feels like Greenlee Smythe is about to snap on someone.
Anna – Take a few deep breaths, better yet...come on, follow me.
Anna took Greenlee's hand as they went inside one of the waiting rooms before they sat down together.
Anna – I'm so sorry to hear about Ryan, he was a good man. Whoever shot him will be held responsible, mark my words.
Greenlee – With all due respect, wish I could feel the same way you do Anna, but this is Pine Valley, no one is held responsible that long. I just don't know what to do next...
Anna – You have your family, Jackson, Aidan, all of them are going to support you in this so you're not alone.
Greenlee – Yeah, speaking about Aidan...
Anna – What? What happened? Don't tell me he's acting up again.
Greenlee – No, no, he's fine. We just had a near fall out from our conversation which could have gotten out of hand so I had to leave for the time being.
Anna – If that nephew of mine hurt you after he just got out from prison-
Greenlee – No, he didn't hurt me. He had a right to be upset with some of the things that came out of his mouth, but Aidan needs help Anna, more than ever.
Anna – Well when Aidan is cleared and ready to leave, we'll be out of Pine Valley. I can tell when I saw him in the interrogation room, something was different about him.
Greenlee – How ironic, the old Aidan Devane we loved and known seems to be long gone.
Anna – Now let's not be Debbie downers Greenlee, at some point Aidan will get back up on his feet in no time.
Greenlee – Yes, but he's angry right now at the world including me when all the town though I died. There's nothing I can do to prevent what happened back then with David, but I must move forward.
Anna – As you should, the Greenlee Smythe I know never lets anyone or anything stop her from achieving what she wants the most.
Hearing her phone vibrate, Greenlee took it out and saw a text message from Jackson before she puts the phone back in her purse.
Greenlee – Sorry I must cut this chat short but, I need to get back to everyone. They needed me, but if you do see Aidan, tell him I am sorry and that I hope he gets the help he needs. I'll always love him.
Anna – Of course and again Greenlee, so sorry to hear about Ryan. He'll never be forgotten in our many memories of him.
Both women get up and huge each other as they go their separate ways. Anna goes back to Aidan's room, then Greenlee walks down the hallways and straight to the elevator. Pressing the button to go up, Greenlee waited for the elevator doors to open and once they did, Greenlee walks inside. Once she pressed the button to the floor of the morgue where the others are at, the doors close to Greenlee and immediately she punched the wall of the elevator while leaning back in anger but sadness from losing Ryan along with her conversation to Aidan still in her mind.
