Hey luvs!
So I'm reeling off our amazing 3-day staycation!! For the first time it seemed like it lasted forever and in such a good way!! We truly got to indulge in one another and didn't feel as if time was flying by, rather it moved at a perfect speed for us so naturally we wanted to know how we could duplicate that for the future and we came up with a few thoughts but I'll get to those after I recap our time together!
Friday night begun our festivities as always with a race to the Bombshell Mansion!! I was soooooo close to beating him there but had a bit more traffic than I hoped for! I had previously mapped out a plan that I thought would be successful and it almost was cause I was only ten minutes behind him, but alas he still won!! I was so annoyed hehe but in a fun and competitive way of course, however I vow that for our next staycation, I will prevail!!:-)
Moving on, once at the Bombshell Mansion, I was ready to give him a special surprise. I had a gift for him! Originally I planned to give it to him for Christmas but being that everything aligned so perfectly now, I knew that this was more appropriate. I believe I've told you in past episodes that his brother passed away, but if I haven't I'm telling you now. I try to keep some things private so I may not have divulged that information to you in the past, but to discuss this gift, it's necessary!! The day before he came, was the two year anniversary of his brother passing. I knew it would be a hard day for both him and his mother so I made sure to be even more present than usual. I left him a voice note the night before the date. Then on Thursday I sent his mum a text message and we talked back and forth. I also spoke to him about everything and learned more about his brother and the relationship and memories they had. Lastly, he sent me a memorial fund where I was able to write a message and light a candle as well as donate money towards the charity cause they chose for his brother. Once the day was done, he told me that he felt he truly honored his brother in the right way and I agreed. Little did he know that I had one more honoring for him that he would receive the next day when he got to my house! He came inside and I pointed him to the card and gift bag. He first read the card and thanked me for it, saying it was sweet, then he moved on to the gift and was overjoyed. He couldn't believe I had done it for him and said I was soooo thoughtful. I'm so happy he loved the gift and once he sent the picture to his mum she said she loved it too!! He called her because she wanted to know more about it and she thanked me on the phone. You see, I had put a childhood picture of him and his brother into an AirPod case for him and inscribed it saying "A brothers love is forever". The writing was in purple because that's his favorite color, and the picture was his and his mother's favorite picture of the two of them!! I was so happy that they loved it and that I could make his honoring a little bit better. He was so happy with the gift and thanked me multiple times throughout the weekend. He sent the picture to his best friend also and she loved it and said I'm a keeper :-). The night was off to a great start and I was so happy that I was able to do that for him because I truly love him and know what he's been going through isn't easy!!
Once the honoring was done he went upstairs to unpack his clothes while I showered and got ready for him. Then we played and teased each other a bit before heading out to get dinner and go grocery shopping. We previously discussed that tonight would be Chick-Fil-A night and that we'd eat it in the car before proceeding to buy our groceries. We did just that and the food tasted great!! I always love Chick-Fil-A and being that it had been a while since I'd eaten that day, or had Chick-Fil-A, I devoured my food!
Next came the groceries and being that we had a few things at the house from the previous staycation, we didn't need to purchase as much. He did however try to persuade me to buy more Pringles but I reiterated to him that we had a full, unopened canister at home and that if we ended up needing more, I'd personally go out and get it. He wasn't fully satisfied but he obliged being that I volunteered myself to right the wrong if necessary. Of course you know I ended up being correct with my assessment, as he didn't even open the Pringles until Sunday. And yes! I'm sure you guessed it! I 100% threw it back in his face and teased him about it. (hehe) I've come to realize that sometimes he overestimates the amount of snacks he'll be able to consume so I've learned how to minimize it and it's been working for us because usually I'm pretty accurate with the measurements.
