Hey luvs!
It's a new day in Hawaii and today will be one of relaxation!! We previously talked and were on the same page regarding not packing our vacation with a million activities. For this reason I came up with the plan that we'd do activities on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and on the other days we'd take time to relax and explore. This was our first day where we got to cash in on that!!
We woke up and went straight to playing our brain games. As you know by now, they've become a staple in our relationship and I love it!! After that we got ready and went downstairs to try breakfast at one of the hotel restaurants. We were seated outside and were able to take in the view while we ate. Our hotel was right across the street from the beach so being able to look over and see the palm trees, sand, and water, was intoxicating. We filled our plates at the buffet and my man and his mum even went back for seconds. The food tasted amazing!! In fact, the only annoyance was the birds that walked around the restaurant. There weren't many but they were still a bit annoying overall.
Anyway, we finished eating and then went back to the "ABC" store to swap his t-shirt out being that we weren't sure as to whether there was a stain on the one he purchased or not. We also picked up a few more things while we were there and then head back to our room to chill on the balcony.
Ohhh.. to sit on those chairs and just talk for a while with the beautiful beach view ahead of us.. Absolutely breathtaking and I truly never wanted it to end. It's funny cause I don't remember what we talked about, but being with him in the moment was everything!! The week was only just beginning and we were very happy with how it had been going. While enjoying the view, I got a text from a producer from one of the reality shows I previously applied to. She asked when would it be a good time to call and I responded stating that I was available now. Next thing you know, we were inside watching a show and she called me for a second interview on the phone. She gave me instructions on what I needed to do next. I needed to film another video and also ask my brother to film a video too, so after we got off the phone I called my brother and updated him. He said he would film his video tomorrow and send it to me. Then I asked my man to film me so that mine could be done. He reminded me that each time I got a call back from a network show, he was with me. I thought that was soooo cool because he was able to share in the excitement and joy with me. He was the perfect camera man also and astonished that I was able to get everything down in one take. It felt great to have him proud of me and see me in my element. Hopefully, my brother and I will get on the show....only time will tell :-)
Anyway, after that we decided to watch our next movie. "The Requiem for a Dream".. OMG, I had dreaded this movie for soooo long because the trailer looked terrible but he had been told such great things about it and how it was sad and profound so he wanted to watch it. He figured that it was probably the best time to do it and I agreed with that so he put it on and I attempted to give it a valiant chance. Overall it just wasn't the type of movie that I liked. He liked it much more than me and rated it with a 4/5. I, on the other hand, gave it a 2.5 out of 5. It was just a weird movie to me with everyone being hooked on drugs in different ways and pretty much dying as a result of it. The way the movie was filmed, appeared that the directors and producers were high themselves. There's a mother who is obsessed with being on a TV show and she over does it trying to become skinny so that she can fit into a red dress that reminded her of her youthful days. One of her friends tells her about a doctor that gives you pills to make you skinny and when she goes to him she gets hooked on the drugs he gives her and eventually ends up in a mental hospital. Her son was also a loser and druggy, that not only sold them, but used them too and as a result ended up losing him arm. Then there was his friend who ended up in jail and his girl who ended up being strung out and passed around to get more drugs. If the point of the movie was to scare people away from doing drugs because of all of the repercussions that can occur then I guess it was good, but for me, it just didn't do it. I was a bit disturbed by it and it's predictability as well as the weird filming of it. I did however to decide to change my rating to a 3/5 after discussing the movie with him, but once again, it was something I could have done without!
I was ready to forget that movie altogether, haha, so we head over to the beach for the first time of our trip. We were both super excited about it because we could see the sand and water from our balcony. I was ready to take my pictures and videos and he was ready to relax in a beach chair. We got dressed and head over. He paid for our beach chairs and then I asked him to take some pictures of me. We did that for about twenty minutes and then we went to our chairs to relax. We each had our headphones on and were in our own world. We also took moments to meditate and talk as well. I remember, sitting next to him and taking it all in.. Just enjoying the moment and feeling blessed. It felt great!!!
We left the beach feeling thankful and stopped by mum's room just to check in before heading back to our rooms to shower. After that we met up with mum at the Ice Cream Store "Dylan's Ice Cream" and ordered our desert for the night. I got the twisted chocolate candy drink and it was soooo good. He got the hot fudge sundae and said that he loved his too. We vowed to go back two more times before we left Hawaii and we definitely did!. But getting back to the rest of the night, we head upstairs to watch our final movie: "Joy Ride". It was a cute one about a fun girls trip where childhood bestfriends and college friends have a journey together where they bond and also confront some deeper thoughts about who they are. Ultimately they end up realizing their worth and loving themselves. It was cute but it wasn't as good or as funny as we thought it was going to be. We rated it with a 3.5/5 and were a bit disappointed that it wasn't better overall. Anyway, after that we went to sleep because we knew we would have another eventful day the following day :-) Can't wait to tell you all about it so make sure to keep tuned for the next episode.
