Taehyung hesitated, his fingers fidgeting. "I've been thinking... about Junghwon. I know you don't like him much, but... he's been really good to me lately. And... I'm thinking about giving him a chance.I know this might feel... strange for you. Junghwon and I... being together. If it's too much-"
"Don't be silly," Jungkook interrupted, his tone light but his voice trembling just slightly. "Why would it be strange? He's my brother, and you're my best friend. If you're happy, that's all that matters
"You think so?" Taehyung asked, searching Jungkook's face.
Jungkook nodded firmly. "Yeah. You deserve someone who takes care of you and makes you feel special."
Taehyung's smile widened, and he reached out to ruffle Jungkook's hair. "Thanks, Kookie. You're the best."
Jungkook watched Taehyung walk away, his smile crumbling the moment he was alone. He leaned against the wall, clutching his chest as the pain threatened to overwhelm him.

Over the following weeks, Taehyung started spending more time with Junghwon. The two grew closer, and their interactions became more frequent. Their friends teased them about being a couple, and Junghwon played his part perfectly, always smiling and acting as if he were deeply in love..
Taehyung, who was still navigating his feelings, tried to focus on the positive. Junghwon was attentive, caring, and always seemed to be there when he needed someone. Taehyung found himself leaning into the idea of their relationship, convincing himself that perhaps this was what love felt like.
Jungkook, on the other hand, was a master of pretense. He buried his heartache beneath layers of jokes and laughter, determined not to let anyone see how much he was struggling. Even when their friends teased Taehyung and Junghwon, Jungkook joined in, his bunny smile never faltering.

It was a sunny afternoon when their group decided to meet at a nearby café. As they sat together, chatting and sipping their drinks, Jimin leaned forward with a sly grin.
"So, Tae, how's the love life?" Jimin teased, wiggling his eyebrows. "You and Junghwon seem to be getting pretty serious."
Taehyung chuckled . "We're just taking things slow. There's no rush."
"But you're happy, right?" Jin asked, his voice warm and encouraging.
Taehyung glanced at Junghwon, who gave him a reassuring smile. "Yeah," he said softly. "I am."
Jungkook's heart clenched at the exchange, but he quickly masked his emotions with a playful smirk. "Wow, hyung," he teased. "You're blushing like a schoolgirl. Should we start calling Junghwon your prince charming now?"
Everyone laughed, and Taehyung playfully swatted Jungkook's arm. "Stop it, Kookie," he said with a laugh. "You're just jealous."
"Jealous?" Jungkook feigned shock, placing a hand over his heart. "Of what? I'm perfectly content being single and fabulous."
"Sure, you are," Yoongi drawled, smirking. "But if you keep joking like that, people might think you're protesting too much."
Their laughter echoed through the café, but Jungkook felt a pang of sadness that he couldn't shake.

Later that evening, Jungkook found himself sitting alone in his room, staring at the blank canvas in front of him. Painting had always been his escape, a way to pour out his emotions without having to speak them aloud. But tonight, his thoughts were too jumbled, his feelings too raw.
