Taehyung didn't hesitate.
The moment Jungkook whispered "Okay," the moment he gave him that small, fragile piece of hope-Taehyung pulled him into his arms.
Tightly. Desperately. Completely.
Jungkook tensed at first, his body stiff against Taehyung's. But when Taehyung's arms didn't loosen-when he held him like he never planned on letting go-Jungkook exhaled shakily and slowly sank into the embrace.
His fingers curled into Taehyung's shirt, gripping it like it was the only thing keeping him together.
And maybe... it was.
Taehyung buried his face in Jungkook's shoulder, breathing him in. "You don't know how long I've wanted to hold you like this."
Jungkook's breath hitched.
Taehyung's voice was filled with so much emotion. So much love.
"I'm sorry it took me so long to understand," Taehyung whispered, his grip tightening. "But I love you, Jungkook. And I'll spend every day proving it to you."
Jungkook didn't say anything. He just closed his eyes and let himself be held.
For once, he allowed himself to believe.
Allowed himself to feel.
And in that moment, Taehyung vowed he would never let Jungkook feel alone again.
By the time evening rolled around, Taehyung had already made up his mind.
Jungkook was slowly letting him in.
Jungkook was slowly trusting him again.
And Taehyung wasn't going to waste a single moment."Kookie," Taehyung called as he walked into the living room, where Jungkook was curled up with a book. "Get dressed."
Jungkook blinked, looking up. "Why?"
Taehyung grinned. "Because we're going to the amusement park."
Jungkook's eyes widened slightly. "What? Why?"
"Because," Taehyung said simply, walking over and taking Jungkook's book from his hands, "I want to take my boyfriend on a date."
Jungkook's breath caught.
Boyfriend.
His heart pounded at the word. He opened his mouth to protest, to say something-but Taehyung's teasing smile, the warmth in his eyes, made him freeze.
He wanted this.
He wanted to be taken on a date.
So instead of arguing, Jungkook sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes. "Fine."
Taehyung's grin widened. "That's my Kookie."
And before Jungkook could react, Taehyung leaned down and pecked his cheek.
Jungkook's face burned. "T-Tae!"
Taehyung just laughed, running off before Jungkook could hit him.
Tonight, he was going to make Jungkook smile.
Not the small, polite smiles.
Not the forced ones.
But the real, heart-stopping, breathtaking bunny smile. And Taehyung would do anything to see it again.
The night air was crisp as they stepped into the brightly lit amusement park.
Jungkook glanced around, his lips twitching at the excited screams coming from the roller coasters. "You really planned this, huh?"
