Days passed, and Taehyung kept his promise. He was there every step of the way, not pushing Jungkook, but always present, offering a steady, quiet support. Jungkook slowly began to trust again, though the scars of the past still lingered beneath his calm exterior. One morning, Taehyung entered the room with his usual bright smile, a tray of breakfast balanced in his hands. "Good morning, sleepyhead," he greeted softly, setting the tray down on the bedside table. Jungkook was already awake, staring at the ceiling with a distant look.
"You're up early today," Taehyung observed, sitting beside him. "Did you sleep well?"
Jungkook shrugged lightly but didn't respond. Taehyung didn't push, knowing Jungkook needed his space. Instead, he handed him a glass of water and started chatting about random, lighthearted topics-how he'd accidentally spilled water on Jin while trying to cook, how Jimin had sent a hilarious selfie from campus, and how Yoongi had fallen asleep in the middle of a group call.
To Taehyung's delight, a faint smile ghosted Jungkook's lips as he listened.
Later that afternoon, Jungkook sat by the window, watching the world go by. He felt an overwhelming sense of emptiness, the kind that comes when you've been through too much and are unsure of what lies ahead. His thoughts drifted to his parents, his brother, and the cruel words they had spoken to him. But now, there was Taehyung, sitting beside him with an unwavering presence that he had never known before.
Taehyung gently placed a hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "You don't have to face everything all at once, Kookie. We'll take it slow, okay?" His voice was soft, full of understanding, but it carried the weight of everything they had been through together.
Jungkook nodded, though his heart was still tangled with confusion and pain. "I... I just don't understand, Tae. How could they all turn against me like that?"
Taehyung sighed, sitting beside him. "I don't know, Kookie. But what I do know is that you're not alone anymore. You've got me, and you've got all of us. We'll figure this out, step by step."
At that moment, Jin, Jimin, Yoongi, and the others arrived, bringing with them the warmth of their presence. They had been coming over regularly, offering small comforts and gestures of kindness, trying to show Jungkook that he wasn't alone. It was clear that they cared, but even they didn't fully understand the depth of the pain he was carrying.
Jin set a tray of food down on the coffee table, smiling softly at Jungkook. "We brought you something to eat. You need to get your strength back up."
Namjoon smiled and ruffled kookie hair and ask . "You feeling any better, Kookie?"
Jungkook smiled faintly, but it didn't quite reach his eyes. "I guess. Just... thinking."
Taehyung noticed this and gave Jungkook's hand a reassuring squeeze, silently telling him that it was okay to take things slow.Yoongi sat down next to him, resting a hand on his shoulder. "It's okay to think, as long as you're not thinking alone. We're all here for you. You don't have to pretend, Kookie. We know things are tough right now, but we're here for you. You don't have to keep everything inside."
Jungkook met Yoongi's gaze for a moment, his expression unreadable. He felt so tired. Tired of pretending, tired of carrying the weight of everything on his shoulders. But the words still wouldn't come.
Jungkook also didn't know how to express the gratitude he felt for all of them. It was a foreign feeling - to be cared for, to be wanted. But it felt... right. Slowly, the walls around his heart began to crack, though they were far from falling.
The conversation drifted to lighter topics. Jimin cracked a few jokes, and the others joined in. Despite the heaviness of the past few days, they were determined to bring a little joy back into the air. And for a moment, Jungkook allowed himself to be part of it. His lips Twitced, albeit softly, at Jimin's ridiculous antics. His heart felt lighter, even if just for a moment.
The night passed, and as everyone prepared to leave, Taehyung stayed behind. He didn't say anything; he just sat next to Jungkook, letting him feel the weight of his quiet support. After a while, Jungkook finally spoke again, his voice soft and hesitant.
"I don't know what to do anymore, Tae."
Taehyung turned to him, his gaze gentle but filled with determination. "You don't have to do anything right now. Just take it one day at a time. You're not alone in this."
Jungkook looked up at Taehyung, his eyes searching for something - for answers, for reassurance, or perhaps for a sense of safety. After a long pause, he spoke again, his voice barely above a whisper. "Do you really think I can get through this?"
Taehyung nodded, his voice steady. "I know you can, Kookie. Because I believe in you. And I'll be here with you every step of the way."
Jungkook felt the warmth of Taehyung's embrace, and for the first time in what felt like forever, he allowed himself to truly feel safe. The road ahead was still uncertain, and the past would always be a part of him, He didn't know what the future held, or how long it would take to heal, but for now, in this moment, he hope he wasn't alone.
As the afternoon sun dipped lower in the sky, Taehyung gently nudged Jungkook awake.
"Kookie," he said softly. "You should eat something before you fall asleep for the night."
Jungkook blinked up at him, his expression groggy. "Hmm? Okay..."
Taehyung helped him sit up and brought over a bowl of soup Jin had prepared. As he fed Jungkook, their fingers brushed briefly. Taehyung felt a jolt of electricity, but Jungkook didn't seem to notice.
"Thank you, tae ," Jungkook said quietly, his eyes meeting Taehyung's for a brief moment.
Taehyung's breath hitched. There was so much emotion in those eyes-gratitude, pain, and a lingering sadness that tugged at his heart.
"You don't have to thank me, Kookie," Taehyung said softly, reaching out to brush a stray tear from Jungkook's cheek. "I'll always take care of you."
That night, while Jungkook was sleeping, Taehyung sat beside him, watching his peaceful face. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from Jungkook’s forehead, and whispered, “Why can’t you see how much you mean to me?”
Taehyung leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. His feelings were becoming harder to ignore. The way his heart raced every time Jungkook smiled, the ache he felt when Jungkook was hurting—it all pointed to something he wasn’t understand
“what is this feeling ?” Taehyung confusedly murmured to himself
