fragments of fragile heart part:-14

Start from the beginning

His mind replayed the moments from the café-Taehyung's smile, Junghwon's gaze, the warmth between them. It was all too much.

A soft knock on his door pulled him from his thoughts. "Kookie? It's me," Eunwoo's voice called.

"Come in," Jungkook replied, trying to sound cheerful.

Eunwoo stepped inside, his expression softening as he took in Jungkook's tired eyes. "You okay?"

Jungkook forced a smile. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

Eunwoo sighed, closing the door behind him. "Kookie, you don't have to pretend with me. I know it's been hard for you."

For a moment, Jungkook's façade cracked, and his shoulders slumped. "It's just... a lot," he admitted softly. "But I'll be fine. I always am."

Eunwoo sat beside him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to carry this alone, you know. I'm here for you."

Jungkook nodded, grateful for Eunwoo's support but unsure of how to truly let someone in.

As the days turned into weeks, Jungkook continued to navigate his pain in silence, leaning on his art and his friends to keep himself afloat. he made a silent promise to himself: no matter how much it hurt, he wouldn't let his love for Taehyung ruin him. Even if it meant letting go. But no matter how much he tried to hide it, his fragile heart was beginning to crack under the weight of it all.

--------

The weight of everything Jungkook had been holding inside for years finally became unbearable. For weeks, he had put on a brave face, pretending that everything was fine, but the cracks in his fragile heart grew wider until he couldn't hold it together anymore.

It was late, and the cafe was empty except for Jungkook and Eunwoo. Jungkook sat slumped in a corner, staring blankly at the table, his body trembling slightly. Eunwoo, who had grown increasingly concerned about Jungkook's behavior, approached him cautiously.

"Kookie," Eunwoo said softly, sitting across from him. "You've been so quiet lately. Please, talk to me. What's going on?"

Jungkook didn't respond immediately, his gaze fixed on his hands as tears started to well in his eyes. He tried to speak, but his voice broke. "I... I can't do this anymore, hyung. It's... too much."

Eunwoo leaned closer, his worry deepening. "What's too much? Kookie, you're scaring me. Tell me what's wrong."

Suddenly, like a dam breaking, Jungkook's emotions poured out of him in a torrent. He started talking, his words tumbling over each other in a frantic rush as he relived everything he had been suppressing for years.

---

"I can't take it anymore, hyung," Jungkook began, his voice trembling. "My parents... they've never loved me. Not once. Ever since I was a kid, they've blamed me for everything. If something went wrong, it was my fault. If Junghwon messed up, it was my fault. They used to scream at me, hit me, call me useless. I'd spend hours crying alone in the garden because I didn't know what I'd done wrong."

Eunwoo's jaw tightened, anger flaring in his chest as he listened.

Jungkook continued, his tears falling freely now. "Nine years, hyung. Nine years of being treated like I was nothing. And I thought... I thought maybe when I went to college, it would be different. I'd have a fresh start, a chance to be happy. And for a while, it was. I had Taehyung, my friends, and the part-time job here. But now... it feels like it's all slipping away again."

Eunwoo placed a comforting hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "What happened, Kookie? Did something happen with Taehyung?"

Jungkook nodded, his voice breaking. "Taehyung... he's giving Junghwon a chance. And Junghwon-he's doing it on purpose, hyung. He knows I love Taehyung. He knows how much Tae means to me, and he's trying to take him away. And he's winning."
