Jungkook's face turned pink. "Tae, you don't have to-"

"Shh," Taehyung interrupted, focusing on his task. "Just let me take care of you."

As Taehyung worked, his parents and the hyungs sat nearby, watching the scene unfold with fond smiles.

"Look at him," Jin whispered to Namjoon. "He's acting like Jungkook's personal nurse."

"I've never seen Tae like this," Namjoon replied. "It's... sweet."

Mrs. Kim leaned toward the group, her eyes twinkling. "Our Tae has always cared for Jungkook, but now... it feels different, doesn't it?"

The others nodded in agreement.

Once Taehyung finished, he looked up at Jungkook, his hands still resting gently on his legs. "Does it feel better now?" he asked.

Jungkook nodded shyly, his heart fluttering at the warmth in Taehyung's gaze. "Thank you, Tae."

"Anything for you," Taehyung replied softly, his lips curving into a smile that made Jungkook's cheeks flush even more.

---------

Taehyung's routine had become predictable yet fulfilling: go to college, finish his classes, and rush home to Jungkook. His heart felt at ease only when he saw Jungkook safe and sound. His friends, however, had started to notice the intensity of his care and couldn't help but question it.

One day, as Taehyung was walking back home with Jimin, Yoongi, Namjoon, Hobi, and Jin after their classes, the group decided to confront him.

"Taehyung," Jimin started, giving him a knowing look, "don't you think you're being a little... extra with Jungkook?"

Taehyung frowned, confused. "Extra? What do you mean?"

Jin chuckled lightly, adjusting his bag. "Jimin means the way you're always running home to him, taking care of every little thing, and barely leaving his side. It's not just care, Tae. It's... something more."

Taehyung blinked, his steps slowing. "Of course I care for him. He's my best friend. He's been through so much-"

"That's just it," Yoongi interrupted, a sly smirk on his lips. "You say he's your best friend, but the way you're acting... it's like he's the most important person in your life. More than anyone else."

"He is important," Taehyung replied defensively, his voice firm.

"Yeah, but why?" Namjoon asked, his tone calm yet probing. "Is it just because you feel guilty? Or is there something else, Tae?"

Taehyung opened his mouth to reply, but the words didn't come. His mind raced, trying to decipher the knot of emotions he'd been carrying. Was it guilt? Responsibility? Or... was it something deeper?

"I... I don't know," he admitted quietly, his gaze dropping to the ground.

Hobi patted his shoulder gently. "That's okay, Tae. But it's worth thinking about. The way you look at him, the way you care for him-it's not just friendship. It's... different."

Jimin chimed in, his voice softer now. "We're your friends too, Tae. And while we know you'd be there for us, it's not the same. With Jungkook, it's like you'd move mountains for him without a second thought."

"That's not true," Taehyung mumbled, though even he didn't sound convinced.

"Really?" Yoongi raised an eyebrow, his smirk growing. "Then tell me, would you drop everything in your life just to make one of us smile?"

Taehyung hesitated, and the group exchanged knowing glances.

"You don't have to answer," Jin said, his tone understanding. "But maybe it's time you figure out what Jungkook really means to you."

---

That night, Taehyung found himself lying on the couch in his room, staring at the ceiling. Jungkook was fast asleep in the bed nearby, his soft breathing filling the quiet space.

Taehyung glanced at him, his heart clenching at the sight of Jungkook's peaceful face. He thought back to everything they'd been through-the laughter, the arguments, the pain, and the moments of quiet understanding.

Why did he care so much?

He closed his eyes, replaying Jimin's and Yoongi's words in his mind. Was it guilt? No. He knew it wasn't just that. He wasn't taking care of Jungkook out of obligation. It was something else. Something he couldn't name.

Taehyung sat up, his gaze falling on Jungkook once more. A soft smile tugged at his lips as he watched the younger boy shift slightly in his sleep, murmuring something unintelligible.

"Why are you so important to me, Jungkookie?" Taehyung whispered, his voice barely audible.

As if sensing his gaze, Jungkook stirred, his eyes fluttering open. "Tae?" he mumbled sleepily, his voice hoarse.

"Sorry," Taehyung said quickly, his cheeks flushing. "Did I wake you?"

Jungkook shook his head, his eyes barely open. "You okay?" he asked, his concern evident even in his half-asleep state.

Taehyung's heart ached at the simple question. How could Jungkook, after everything he'd been through, still care so much?

"I'm fine, Kookie," he replied softly. "Go back to sleep."

Jungkook nodded, his eyes closing again. Within moments, he was asleep once more, his breathing evening out.

Taehyung leaned back against the couch, his thoughts swirling. Whatever this feeling was, it wasn't going away.

-----

Next day At breakfast, Taehyung's parents were delighted to see Jungkook looking better. His mother fussed over him, piling food onto his plate despite his protests.

"You've gotten so thin, Jungkookie," she scolded gently. "You need to eat more."

"Yes, mom," Jungkook replied with a small smile, which made her beam.

Taehyung watched the exchange with a soft look in his eyes. Seeing Jungkook smile, even a little, filled him with a sense of pride and happiness he couldn't quite explain.

After breakfast, Taehyung's hyungs arrived, bringing their usual energy and laughter. Jin, as always, took over the kitchen, whipping up snacks for everyone. Jimin and Hobi teased Taehyung relentlessly, while Namjoon and Yoongi kept a close eye on Jungkook, making sure he was comfortable.

As the day went on, Taehyung noticed something strange-every time someone got too close to Jungkook, whether it was Jimin ruffling his hair or Jin giving him a hug, Taehyung felt a small pang of jealousy.

"What is wrong with me?" Taehyung muttered to himself, shaking his head.

Jungkook, noticing Taehyung's odd behavior, tilted his head. "Are you okay, Tae?"

"Y-Yeah," Taehyung stammered, forcing a smile. "Just tired, that's all."

Jungkook didn't seem convinced, but he didn't press further.

That evening, after everyone had left, Taehyung and Jungkook found themselves sitting on the couch together. Taehyung was scrolling through his phone while Jungkook stared out the window, lost in thought.

"Kookie," Taehyung said suddenly, breaking the silence.

Jungkook turned to him, curious. "Yeah?"

Taehyung hesitated for a moment, then spoke. "Do you not feel that you need more rest right now? You can join college when you feel better .

Jungkook thought about it for a moment before shook his head slowly. "I am good now tae don't worry and also you will stay with me right.

The simplicity of Jungkook's words caught Taehyung off guard. His chest tightened, and he felt that now-familiar flutter in his heart.

"Of course, Kookie," Taehyung said softly, reaching out to take Jungkook's hand. "I'll always be with you."

Jungkook looked down at their joined hands, a faint smile creeping onto his lips
