Tatum Preston (26) has been to hell and back. Now living in the city of Los Angeles in 2021 with her best friend Francesca (26), everything she's ever worked for hanging on by a thread and to no fault of her own. Dancers have a shelf life you see...
I'd figured out that I should expect a phone call around 4:30-5 pm my time. Tonight was show three - and it was a Sunday.
So I currently waited in my apartment, curled up on my couch with a book and tea to pass the time.
Jawn's photos were at least getting me through.
I had yet to see Awsten fresh off of stage. He'd been calling me usually after he showered.
I wanted to see him sweaty.
He'd been gone almost a week. We had nearly two and half till I was on a plane to see him. Still two and a half weeks from being next to him and kissing his freshly shaven cheeks.
My week was also kind of crazy coming up. I'd signed myself up for an early pilates class for tomorrow, my brother was flying into town and moving - which didn't really effect me that much, but he was still coming - I had dance on Tuesday and Thursday, a shoot on Wednesday, plus a solo rehearsal space I had booked to practice the routines for the Dua audition - which was literally any day now.
And it better be before I planned on going to join Awsten in Milan or I would lose my mind.
I'd gotten through two more chapters of my book when my phone started buzzing beside me and I looked down to see Awsten's name and face lighting up my screen.
I put slide my thumb across the screen immediately to answer and what appeared to be a freshly showered Awsten with damn hair.
"Hi Tater Tot." He hummed, calling me today already with one of his arms behind his head while he laid in his bunk.
"Hey Aws," I grinned and turned on my side on my couch. "I really like this whole freshly showered thing."
"Yeah?" Awsten laughed a little. "I'm gross when I get off stage. The shower helps me decompress."
"Yeah, although I'm dying to see you sweaty."
"I'll take a picture for you next time, and you'll be able to see me covered in plenty of sweat when you're here."
"Send me all the pictures." I grinned. "I got those photos back today from the shoot I had last week."
"Oh yeah? And you haven't sent them?"
"I wanted your reaction!" I blushed and playfully rolled my eyes at him. "I can share with you now. Here's a couple. Hold on."
And I went to my Photos app, choosing a couple and sent them over to him.
