Tethered ? Awsten Knight

This is Christmas Part 1

I started writing these chapters months ago - almost a year ago honestly, but I have quite a few pieces together still.

Saturday

5:04 PM

"Hey!" Awsten called out from the front door as I put butter out on the counter to sit.

"Hey!" I dropped what I was doing to see him with a bouquet of flowers in the hall and a couple of tote bags. "Baby, what is all this? I could have come down and helped you."

"With your ankle? I don't think so. It's not a biggie." He leaned down a little as I held onto his jacket. "Hi."

"Hi." I leaned in the rest of the way and connected our lips in a short kiss. "Did you want to make cookies first?"

"I want you to open your stuff."

"Already?!"

"You know how long I've been waiting? Yeah. Then we can order dinner and make cookies."

"Let me take these." I took the roses gently from him and pecked his cheek. "You can set up how you want while I put these in a vase."

"Alright." He laughed a little as we parted ways, heading into my living room while I went into the kitchen. "Don't judge my wrapping."

"You get an A for effort." I grinned at him before I grabbed a clear vase out from under my sink and filled it with water. "Feeling any better?"

"Yeah," He shrugged a little. "The social media break has been good the past couple of days...you?"

"I'm alright. I don't think it'll really hit me until we're home...Are you okay if I ask your mom if we can go to lunch again?"

"Absolutely." Awsten nodded, placing presents under the tree. "I promise, it's not going to bother me."

"Okay." I grinned and put the flowers in the vase for now and would trim up the stems later. I went and joined him on the floor as he folded up his tote bags and set them aside. "You have to go first through."

"What?!" He chuckled and shook his head. "Nah."

"Yes! Please?" I asked him and leaned in, watching his eyes flicker down to my lips while I pressed against him.

"That's not fair."

"Oh, come on." I kissed his jaw. "I really want you to go first."

"Alright, alright." He squeezed my leg, then picked up a flat medium box. "I hope it's lingerie."

"Shut up." I rolled my eyes as he ripped away the wrapping paper and lifted the lid to the box to reveal the flannels I had gotten him.

"Aw, baby. These are so nice."

I'd gotten him a red one and a darker blue.

"Yeah? I thought the red would be good for when you dye your hair."

"It will be. Thank you." He smiled and kissed my cheek. "Okay, your turn."

"Is there one I should open first?"

"Nah...hmmm, wait, do this one." He picked up a bigger flat box and handed it to me. "I went with stuff that I thought would be kind of a pain in the ass to travel with."

"Why is this so big?"

"You'll find out!" He laughed and leaned back with his hands propping him up behind him. I tore away the wrap slowly, looking down to see a cardboard box. "I had to make sure stuff was there."
