Zain leaned back in his office chair, his head tilted slightly as a wide, boyish grin refused to leave his lips.
The world outside his cabin seemed to blur into an unimportant hum-the clicking keyboards, ringing phones, and soft conversations-all drowned out by the euphoria swirling in his heart.
He hadn't slept a wink the previous night.
How could he?
Every time he closed his eyes, Zoya's face appeared before him, radiant with a vulnerability he'd never seen before.
Her voice, soft and trembling with emotion, replayed in his mind like a song on repeat.
"I've fallen in love with you, Zain".
The words rang in his ears, over and over, leaving him breathless with disbelief and overwhelming joy.
Each time the memory surfaced, he found himself breaking into a wide grin, his heart doing a somersault as if hearing it for the first time.
Last night had been pure chaos-for him, at least.
He had tossed and turned, his legs bouncing with an energy he couldn't contain.
Every so often, he'd roll out of bed, pace his room like a restless child, and then, out of nowhere, he'd wiggle his body, breaking into a little happy dance, whispering, "She loves me! She actually loves me!"
He had tried to be quiet, but his laughter had burst out more than once, echoing in the stillness of his room.
He couldn't help it.
He'd twirl around, run his hands through his hair, and fall back onto his bed with an exhilarated sigh, only for the cycle to start all over again.
And now, sitting in his office cabin, Zain was no better.
The grin that had taken over his face seemed permanently etched, his cheeks beginning to ache from the sheer effort of holding back the urge to laugh out loud.
His fingers drummed lightly on his desk, his eyes occasionally darting to the papers in front of him, though his mind was miles away.
He let out a soft chuckle, shaking his head at himself.
"Zoya loves me," he whispered again, as if saying it aloud would make it more real.
The words were his lifeline now, the melody to which his entire being swayed.
A knock at his cabin door startled him.
One of his colleagues peeked in, looking slightly confused at the sight of his unusually cheerful demeanor.
Zain quickly composed himself, clearing his throat and straightening his posture.
"Yes, come in," he said, trying to sound professional, but the telltale twinkle in his eyes and the curve of his lips betrayed him.
As soon as the door closed, he leaned back again, the goofy smile returning almost instantly.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment, letting the memory of Zoya's confession wash over him once more.
And just like that, he found himself whispering, "She loves me," his heart soaring higher with each repetition.
For Zain, the world had changed in a single moment, and he had never felt happier.
His staff couldn't help but exchange confused glances.
Fahad noticed this too and decided to check on him.
