The air in my room was thick with the scent of sandalwood and incense. My mother, her hands trembling slightly, meticulously arranged the small puja thali. On it lay a coconut, a few betel leaves, and a small lamp flickering with a soft glow. My father, his gaze fixed on the framed photograph of his ancestors, recited mantras in a low, resonant voice.

I sat on the floor, feeling a strange mix of excitement and nervousness. This wasn't just a simple ceremony. This was a ritual, a symbolic transition into manhood, a declaration that I was ready to take on the responsibilities of a husband.

My mother gently placed a garland of marigolds around my neck, her eyes brimming with tears. "May Lord Shiva bless you with a lifetime of happiness," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.

My father, his voice firm now, performed a small aarti, the flames of the lamp dancing in the semi-darkness. He then tied a sacred thread around my wrist, his gaze intense, conveying a silent message of strength and guidance.

As the pooja concluded, a sense of calm washed over me. I felt a deep sense of gratitude for my parents, for their unwavering love and support.

This small, intimate ceremony, devoid of the fanfare of a grand celebration, held a profound significance. It was a moment of profound connection, a reminder of the roots that nourished me and the legacy I was about to inherit.

I was no longer just Reyansh, their son. I was Reyansh, the groom, ready to embark on this new chapter of my life, with their blessings and love as my guiding light.

Just as the moment reached its peak of solemnity, Aahana, my mischievous sister, couldn't resist. "So, is Aadya ready for her handsome groom?" she chirped, her voice laced with playful teasing.

My cheeks flushed crimson. "Aahana!" I exclaimed, trying to playfully swat her arm. "Don't embarrass me!"

She just giggled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "What? Can't handle a little friendly teasing from your favorite sister?"

The door burst open and my best friend, Abhi, strode in, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Hold on, hold on!" he exclaimed, "Let's not forget the expert opinion!" He strode towards me, slapping me on the back. "Looking sharp, man! Ready to face the music?"

I groaned, "Abhi, you're not helping."

Abhi grinned, "Come on, relax! It's just a little fun. Besides," he leaned closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "I hear Aadya looks stunning."
