Aadya pov
Wedding part-1

The weight of the lehenga was a physical manifestation of the day itself – heavy, significant, life-altering.  Crimson red and gold shimmered under the vanity lights, each embroidered flower a tiny, perfect moment leading to this one.  I sat still, a strange calm settling over me, a stark contrast to the usual whirlwind of nervous energy that defined me.  Today was my wedding day.  Today, I became Mrs. Reyansh.  The thought echoed in my head, both thrilling and terrifying.

A soft knock broke the silence, followed by the hesitant creak of the door.  My breath hitched.  I knew who it was.

Maa stood there, a vision of grace in her silk saree.  For a moment, we just looked at each other.  Her eyes, usually so full of laughter, were glistening with tears.  Tears that mirrored the emotions swirling inside me – joy, anticipation, a pang of bittersweet farewell.  Her gaze traveled over me, absorbing every detail – the maang tikka, the lehenga, the mehndi swirling on my hands.

And in that moment, a lifetime of memories flashed before my eyes.  Me, a little girl, draping Maa’s sarees and pretending to be a bride.  Me, a rebellious teenager, arguing with her about my dreams. Me, a young woman, ready to conquer the world.  And now, here I was, a bride, ready to build a world of my own.

A shaky breath, and Maa stepped into the room.  The tears started to fall, not tears of sadness, but of overwhelming joy. She walked towards me, her hand trembling as she reached out to touch my cheek.

"My baby," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "You look… breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking."

My own eyes welled up.  Seeing Maa’s tears, the reality of the day crashed down on me.  I reached out, my hand finding hers, squeezing gently.  "Maa," I whispered back, my voice choked.

She cupped my face in her hands, her thumbs gently wiping away the tears that had escaped.  "I'm so happy for you, darling," she said, her voice filled with so much love.  "Reyansh is a lucky man."

I smiled, a genuine, radiant smile that bubbled up from somewhere deep inside.  "And I'm a lucky woman, Maa," I replied.  "I love him so much."

Maa pulled me into a warm embrace, holding me tight.  "My blessings are always with you, my child," she whispered in my ear.  "May you always be happy."

As we broke apart, she straightened my dupatta, her eyes sparkling with pride.  "Now," she said, a hint of her usual playful tone returning, "let's not keep your groom waiting."

The last delicate touches were being applied to my makeup when the door burst open, revealing Rooh, a whirlwind of vibrant energy in a bright pink and orange lehenga.  Her eyes sparkled with excitement, and a mischievous grin played on her lips.  Maa was already in the room, watching me with a soft smile.
