William Jakrapatr strode confidently into the towering building, his steps brisk with purpose. The bright lights of the lobby reflected off the sleek glass walls, but he paid them no mind. Est Supha followed just a step behind, hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket, his usual cool composure in place.

But then—thud!

William smacked straight into the glass door with a force that sent him stumbling back before collapsing onto the polished floor. His body sprawled out in a way that would have been graceful—if he weren’t currently groaning in embarrassment.

For a moment, there was silence. Then—laughter.

Est doubled over, his deep, rich laugh filling the lobby. He clutched his stomach, barely managing to breathe between chuckles. "Oh my God, William—" he wheezed, "you—pfft—you walked straight into it!"

But before Est could enjoy his moment of amusement for too long, William's hand shot out. His fingers curled around Est’s wrist, and with one swift pull, Est was yanked downward.

With a surprised yelp, Est landed right on top of William, their bodies pressing together in a tangled heap. His hands instinctively found purchase against William’s chest, while William's arms slid around Est’s waist, holding him firmly against him.

The laughter stopped.

Est's breath hitched, his heart hammering against his ribs. Their faces were so close now—too close. He could see the faint flush creeping up William's neck, whether from embarrassment or something else entirely, he wasn’t sure.

"You laughed too much," William muttered, his voice slightly breathless but teasing. His grip on Est’s waist didn’t loosen.

Est swallowed hard. "And you’re still holding me," he pointed out, his voice quieter than before.

William blinked. Then, finally, he smirked. "Guess I like the position."

Est opened his mouth to respond, but then a cough sounded nearby.

Both of them snapped their heads toward the receptionist, who stood behind the desk, eyebrows raised, amusement barely concealed behind her professional demeanor.

"Are you two planning on staying like that, or should I call for assistance?" she asked, clearly entertained.

William and Est exchanged glances. Then, at the same time—

"Shut up," William grumbled.
"We’re good," Est said, finally pushing himself up.

But as he did, William let his fingers drag along his waist just a second longer than necessary.

And Est?

Well, he felt that.
