The event was buzzing with excitement. The venue was filled with fans and reporters, all eager to hear from their favorite stars. William Jakrapatr, the 20-year-old rising actor and idol, sat next to Est Supha, the 23-year-old seasoned actor, as they promoted their ongoing series, a show that had gained a lot of attention recently. The two were in high spirits, exchanging laughter and stories as the host guided the event smoothly.
William, ever charismatic, flashed his trademark smile, responding enthusiastically to questions about his character and his experience filming. Est, though more reserved, also carried himself with charm and grace, his deep voice calm and steady as he answered questions. The fans loved them, and they both seemed to be enjoying themselves, despite the occasional flashes of nervousness that flickered across Est's face.
William noticed it immediately, as he always did. Est had a habit of fidgeting when he was anxious. Normally, Est would fiddle with the bracelet on his wrist, a small silver band with intricate carvings that he always wore. William had seen him do it countless times, especially when the pressure of being in front of so many people made him uneasy.
Today, however, Est wasn’t wearing his bracelet. William had noticed when they arrived at the event, and though he hadn’t said anything, he could see the small signs of unease. His fingers twitched at his side, as if looking for something to occupy them.
It didn’t take long before Est’s eyes shifted to William’s wrist, where a similar bracelet—one that William had worn for years—sat comfortably. It was a thin metal band, engraved with delicate patterns, just like Est’s. William chuckled softly, knowing exactly what was coming.
"Do you need it?" William asked, his voice light, as he noticed Est’s eyes fixating on the bracelet.
Est hesitated for a moment before nodding slightly, embarrassed. "I... I usually have mine with me," he muttered, almost apologetically. "But I didn’t bring it today."
Without a word, William slid his bracelet off his wrist and gently placed it in Est’s hand. "You can hold onto this one for now. I know how it helps."
Est gave him a grateful but bashful smile. "Thanks, Will."
For the next few minutes, the two continued to interact with the host, laughing and answering questions. However, William couldn’t help but notice how Est's fingers kept moving, now occupied with his bracelet. Est would twist it gently, turning it over, feeling its smooth surface as if finding solace in the act.
William found it endearing. He had always thought that Est’s fidgeting habit was adorable, a little quirk that made him seem more human, more real. But what William didn’t expect was for it to become the source of an accident.
As the host turned to ask William a question, Est’s attention remained focused on the bracelet, his fingers twisting it nervously in his hands. He gave it a little tug, almost absent-mindedly, and then—snap—there was a sharp sound that cut through the chatter in the room.
Est froze, his face paling as he looked down at the broken bracelet in his hand. The delicate metal had split where he had tugged it too hard.
"I—" Est began, his voice thick with panic. "I’m so sorry, Will."
William’s eyes widened, and he instinctively reached out, touching Est's hand where the broken pieces now lay. "Est, hey, it's okay," he said, trying to calm him. But as he saw the broken bracelet, his worry shifted to something else entirely. "Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself?"
Est blinked in confusion. "What? No, I didn’t hurt myself, I just—"
William’s expression softened, but his concern didn’t fade. "But the metal’s sharp. You could’ve cut yourself." His hand reached out to check Est’s fingers, looking for any sign of injury. Est looked down at his hand, realizing for the first time that there was a tiny scratch on the tip of his finger where the bracelet had snapped.
"I’m fine, Will," Est assured him, but his voice was shaky. "I didn’t mean to break it. I—"
William gently took Est’s hand in his, inspecting the small cut. "It’s just a scratch, but it could have been worse." He paused, a little smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Honestly, I’m more worried about you than the bracelet."
Est blinked, surprised by the warmth in William’s words. He had expected William to be upset about the bracelet, which held sentimental value to him. But instead, William’s focus was entirely on making sure he was okay.
"I’m sorry," Est repeated, his voice small now. "I didn’t mean to break it. I know it’s important to you."
William squeezed his hand reassuringly. "Hey, it’s just a bracelet. I’ll get it fixed. I’m just glad you’re not hurt."
Est looked at William, his heart lightened by his words. He had never expected someone to care so much, especially in the midst of such a small accident. William’s concern, his genuine kindness, made Est feel even more grateful for his friendship.
"Thanks, Will," Est said softly, still holding the broken bracelet. "I really didn’t want to mess things up."
"You didn’t mess anything up," William said with a grin. "I’m just happy we’re both okay."
And just like that, the tension eased, and they continued with the event, Est now a little more relaxed, even if the broken bracelet remained a small reminder of the day’s unexpected turn. As the interview continued, William noticed Est occasionally glancing at the broken pieces in his hand, but his usual nervous fidgeting had settled. He had found something better to occupy his mind—his friendship with William, which seemed to be growing stronger with each passing moment.
