It was just another random night when Beomgyu found himself roaming the neighborhood streets with his chaotic friend group—who, for some reason, were throwing rotten eggs and rocks at random doors.
Whose idea was this?
Heeseung, obviously.
"Tell me again why I agreed to come?" Beomgyu grumbled, lugging a basket full of eggs and rocks like some unhinged Easter bunny.
"Stop being a party pooper, Gyu. This is fun!" Heeseung laughed, winding up for another egg throw.
"This isn't fun, it's literally ten at night. People are trying to sleep, Heeseung," Beomgyu snapped, arms aching from the weight.
Yeji gave him a pointed look. "You only live once, Beomgyu. Might as well live it loud."
Before he could argue, Sunghoon, Lia, and Sunoo came running around the corner, breathless.
"Guys—bad news!" Sunoo panted. "A neighbor saw us. They said they're calling the police!"
"We are so doomed!" Lia gasped.
"Oh relax," Heeseung rolled his eyes. "People always say that. Nothing ever happens."
Lesson of the night? Never trust a troublemaker friend.
Because seconds later, the sound of a police siren pierced the air.
Everyone turned toward the blaring lights in horror.
"We're literally in the middle of the damn street—where do we even hide?!" Sunghoon cried.
With no options left, they all grabbed hands and kneeled in surrender.
"No way I'm becoming a criminal at eighteen," Beomgyu muttered, utterly defeated.
"Don't worry, Gyu. We're all criminals together," Heeseung said solemnly.
"Fuck you, Heeseung," the group said in unison.
"This is it, we're going to jail," Beomgyu whispered.
"Wait," Sunoo squinted at the approaching figure. "Is that... Yeonjun?"
"Oh my God, it is Yeonjun," Lia confirmed with a grin.
"A criminal x cop romance," she added dramatically.
"Seriously? Y'all are thinking about fanfic tropes when we're about to get arrested?!" Beomgyu and Sunghoon both yelled.
As the police officer stepped out of the car, he let out a theatrical gasp.
"Beomgyu, darling?" Yeonjun blinked, staring at the chaotic scene.
"Beomgyu... and friends??" he mumbled.
They all gave him a very awkward wave.
"Heeeyyy," Beomgyu muttered, not meeting his eyes.
"Hey there, Beomgyu's boyfriend!" Sunoo called out cheerfully. "Are you gonna arrest us? Arrest me, daddy—"
"YUCK," the others groaned in unison.
Yeonjun let out a deep sigh. He had expected a quiet patrol shift, not this.
Beomgyu stood quickly. "I can explain—please don't arrest us—"
Yeonjun held up a hand. "Relax. I'm supposed to take you to the station, but... how can I arrest my precious boyfriend?" he said with a smug smile.
"Just a warning this time. But if any of you do this again? Jail. No mercy."
The group exhaled in relief.
"Thank you, Beomgyu's boyfriend," they chorused, except for Beomgyu and Yeonjun.
"And you—" Yeonjun pointed to Beomgyu "—are coming with me. My house."
Yeji and Lia screamed, "OHHH, LOVE QUARRELS!"
Sunoo whispered, "What if he punishes Beomgyu with his co—" SMACK. Beomgyu nearly slapped him.
"Hey! I'm joking!"
The drive was awkwardly silent. When they arrived, Yeonjun just tossed Beomgyu the house keys.
"Make yourself at home. I'll be back later. Don't wait up."
And with that, he was gone.
Beomgyu blinked. "...Wow."
He had known Yeonjun was rich, but this house? Massive. Guards, maids, the whole royal treatment. When the staff looked confused by his presence, he showed them a picture of him and Yeonjun—one where Yeonjun was kissing his cheek and holding the phone like a proud simp. That shut them up quick.
Apparently, Yeonjun's family owned a well-known luxury fashion brand. Beomgyu couldn't wrap his head around it. If Yeonjun was this wealthy... why was he working as a cop?
The station was buzzing with activity—cases, complaints, general chaos.
Soobin frowned. "Yeonjun, did you find the brats throwing eggs?"
"Yeah... I warned them and suggested they get jobs and a better life," Yeonjun said nervously.
"now, where are they? did you bring them?"
"they escaped..??"
Hueningkai, lounging on his desk, smirked. "My dumb, lying coworker. Choi Yeonjun."
Yeonjun gulped.
"Lee Heeseung was one of them," Kai added, "and guess who else? His baby boy, Beomgyu. That's why officer lover-boy let them go."
Soobin rubbed his temples. "How the hell do you know that?"
"Someone was hiding in the bushes filming an Instagram live," Kai said casually. "I watched the whole thing."
Soobin slapped his forehead. "You're so dumb, Officer Choi."
Yeonjun shrugged. "Only for him."
