The air was thick with the smell of charred wood and death.

Thor tightened his grip on Mjolnir as he and Captain Ragna stepped through the ashes, his heart pounding with a brutal, unrelenting rhythm.

The once-thriving village was now a graveyard—smoke still coiled from scattered debris, and the snow was stained with dark, congealed blood. Thor forced himself forward, each step heavy with dread.

Captain Ragna scanned the area, his eyes narrowing as he pointed toward the village center. Thor followed his gaze and froze—his eyes locking on the body of an elderly woman. The unmistakable wound in her back, a deep, gaping hole from Gungnir, bled freely onto the wreckage. Blood pooled beneath her, stark against the dirt and broken stone.

It was Y/n's grandmother—no doubt.

Thor swallowed hard. The image of the lifeless woman cut through him like a jagged blade.

He had heard Y/n speak of her often, but never as "grandmother"—just Homura. A name that meant family. A mother she never had.

He had to push the thought of Y/n seeing this out of his mind, but it lingered—an unspoken dread clawing at his insides.

It was unbearable to imagine her heart breaking like this—shattered, just as the woman's body had been.

But no. Thor couldn't afford to dwell on it.

He had to find her. This couldn't be her fate, too.

Captain Ragna's voice broke through the spiral, calm yet firm. "She's strong, Lord Thor. Wherever she is, she's still fighting."

Thor gave a curt nod, but the words barely registered.

Then he felt it. A presence—familiar, cold.

Father.

Odin sat on a large, weathered rock near the outskirts, calmly wiping blood from Gungnir's gleaming tip.

The vice-captain, walking ahead of Thor and Ragna, stepped forward and bowed. "I have brought Lord Thor and Captain Ragna, as you requested, Allfather."

Odin gave a brief nod, his eye never straying from the spear. "Good. Now, check on the progress of the troops. See where they stand in locating Y/n."

The vice-captain bowed again and left swiftly.

Odin's eye remained fixed on Gungnir, but Thor felt his gaze. Cold. Calculating.

"You've arrived at last," Odin drawled. "I expected better. Did something keep you occupied?"

Thor forced a neutral expression.

"What have you done?" His voice was steady. Cold.

Odin finally looked up. "What needed to be done. The Healer's line has gone unchecked too long. I underestimated her resolve."

"You invaded Fjellheim after you promised it would be spared. Why?"

Odin scoffed. "As long as she served and swore fealty to Asgard, yes. But she broke that pact—attacked my men, trespassed into the restricted library, stole a scroll that was never hers. She even struck me before vanishing to who-knows-where."

He pulled out the aged scroll and held it up. Recognition flickered in Thor's eyes.

"So," Thor murmured, jaw tightening. "You finally got what you wanted... thanks to her so-called rebellion." Bitterness laced his voice. "But let's not forget—you struck first. You attacked her home. Her grandmother. What did you expect?"
