"Well now I'm aware of it."
Luke's P.O.V
It has been two weeks since the gig where I first Ellie on stage & in those two weeks, I had been watching her a bit more & more while at school.
Ellie walked through the hallway where Michael's locker was every morning almost exactly ten minutes before the bell rang & her head was always down.
She ate at the same end of the table every day for lunch as well. She usually had a book in front of her but I realized she never actually turned a page during the entire lunch period so the book was probably just so make herself seem busy, to make it seem like she was okay sitting alone.
Now, before going to the car park after school, which is where my friends & I usually hang out until Ashton comes to pick Calum, Michael & I up, I started exiting through the same doors that Ellie does. It took a few days, a few tries, but we finally left at the same time & I saw the true direction she walks in so I could knew just about the area she lived in.
I wasn't trying to be creepy, I was just curious. I was honestly intrigued by her. I was curious about how a girl who is so herself on a stage is as quiet as could be at school. I would think it'd be the opposite, that being on stage would cause someone enough nerves that they'd shut down but it wasn't that way for Ellie.
I also looked at their band's twitter quite often too. I never followed it - because Ellie could see that & it could ruin everything - but I did visit it enough that when I opened a new tab on my laptop, it was one of my most visited sites.

One morning, Ellie walked into school looking even more sluggish than usual.
I couldn't help but notice her body was a little bit more hunched over, she was looking even further down at the ground & she had her arms wrapped around her stomach rather than holding onto her bag. That afternoon at lunch, she was barely eating & she had her head resting on the table instead of pretending to be lost in a book.
"Do you think Ellie is okay?" I asked Calum quietly at lunch, since the others we sit with still have no idea about the side we know of her.
"Why?"
"She seems even more off than usual today."
"I haven't noticed." Calum replied. "I haven't been watching her."
To be honest, the guys have sort of let the whole Ellie thing fade. Sure, it still comes up a little bit in conversation but I am far more interested in it than they are.
I showed them her band's twitter & their youtube channel. They've watched the videos but likely only once whereas I watch them a few times a week.
Basically, Calum had no reason to see the change in Ellie today like I had seen.
"Oh. She just seems more down that usual like maybe she's sick or something."
"What's up?" Michael asked as he took a seat on the other side of me once my friend Chase had moved.
"I was just saying Ellie looks sick or something today."
Michael then turned to look at her before looking back at me. "Nah not at all. She looks hungover to me."
"Really?"
"Yea!" Calum then agreed. "That's what it is! She looks hungover."
"It's a Tuesday." I explained to them. "Why would she be hungover?"
"Maybe she went out with the band or something?" Michael shrugged his shoulders before he moved to let Chase sit back down.
Just to see, I took out my phone & I quickly opened their twitter account.
