Luke's P.O.V

"Ellie!" I sat down next to her at lunch. She was too tired of people starring at our lunch table now that we sit with her so we now sit on the grass out in the school yard area away from my old spot & the people who stare. "Ellie, Ellie, Ellie!"

"What!"

"What are you doing after school today?"

"Homework?"

"How about coming to Calum's match with me instead? Well with us." I pointed to Michael too. "Do you want to come with us? Ash might meet us there too."

"Uh." She hesitated. "I don't know."

"Why not?" Michael whined. "Seriously?"

"Come watch!" Calum threw a pretzel at her. "I want you there."

"But that's a public & a popular school event so it'd be like lunch times a thousand with people starring at me..."

"So?" I asked her, now throwing that same pretzel at her too. "We'll be there."

"I don't know. I just, it's just, I don't know."

"Can you at least think about it?" I asked with a pouted lip.

"Sure, yea. I'll think about it."

"Good. That's all I ask."

"& I want you there." Calum told her. "So you better come."

"You wouldn't even be able to tell if I was there or not."

"Just think about it." I looked at her. "Yea?"

luke, people will stare & talk about me even more if i'm there & i don't want the attention.

i'm not stupid. i know people are spreading rumors about why the quiet girl is now friends with luke hemmings & showing up at the game will just add to it. you sitting by me at lunch is enough attention.

Luke-

Ellie-

no, i like that you do! but like the least amount of time i can spend surrounded by all of those people, the better. i don't need everyone pointing at me tonight.

then michael will shoot them a look & they'll stop.
