"What do you mean people making your life hell?"
Luke's P.O.V
"Hi again." Ellie spoke once she walked towards us. "Do you guys want to sit & talk a little bit?"
"Sure." I answered as we all took a seat in the sand making our own little circle.
The other band was still playing so most people were near the stage rather than the fire where we were so it made for a cozy scene.
"I'm sorry for running off earlier."
"No." Calum shook his head. "It's okay, don't worry about it."
"Why did you run off? Are you shocked we know your secret now?" Ashton joked & that made Ellie smile.
"Yea, I am shocked. You could say that."
"Why though?" I asked her. "Does anyone else know?"
"Well no one from school knows about it & now here you are."
"But why do you hide it?" I asked Ellie as she was drawing circles in the sand with her finger. "Like you are literally outstanding so I don't see why you hide it from everyone."
"I don't know. I'm a little upset that you guys know, to be honest. That's why I ran off. I'm pretty pissed off actually."
"Can I ask why?" Ashton then asked her.
"Because of that song they made me sing tonight. I told them I never ever ever wanted to perform that live but Ray has been on my case about it & he always said if we ever did an acoustic gig, he'd make me play it. I told him right before going on stage to not even think about it but then he brought it up & why would the audience say no? So I had no choice. It's just extremely person & very embarrassing especially since you guys know who I am at school, well lack of know who I am. But you see me being that quiet chick in the corner & now you heard that."
"No." I stopped her. "It was amazing. Seriously. It was."
"But it's just so damn personal & here you guys are like all popular & you have friends, you fit in while I'm over here complaining about how I'm the complete opposite."
"Well I don't think you should hide it." I told her. "I think you're cool & I think your band is cool."
"Maybe if you started talking about your band at school, people might talk to you & get to know you & stuff." Calum suggested. "Being in a band should make you pretty cool I would think."
"Nah. You don't get it."
"Why not?" I asked her. I agreed with Calum's logic. If the school found out Ellie had this amazing side to her, they may lighten up on her.
"Because you're Luke Hemmings, you're Calum Hood & you're Michael Clifford." Then she looked at Ashton. "Sorry I don't know your last name but still. Something like this for you guys would make you cooler for sure but something like this for me would just cause for more reason to laugh at me."
"Do you really think that?" I looked right at her. "Really?"
"Yes. I do. Once you're popular, things like this make you cooler. When you're already an established nobody, things like this don't help you at all. I mean seriously. Imagine if I walked into school one day & I started talking to people, they'd think I was insane. If I ever got the name of my band out there, all of your friends would watch our youtube videos or whatever & laugh at me. You know that's the truth. Hey, name one person on your soccer team, Calum, who would come to this gig tonight & not make a joke about the fact that I can actually talk or that I'm actually not a mute. Even if it's an underlying compliment, I would still get made fun of. Whether you want to admit it or not, you know that's the truth."
