Chapter 18

"Oh just the cookie? Not because of me?"

"Exactly. It's all the cookie."

"Did you only use me to drive you here so I would buy it for you?"

"Pretty much." She shrugged her shoulders before taking another bite. "I just wanted this."

"Well that's too bad." I reached out for Ellie's hands & then I pulled her over as I laid down on my back so she was now laying beside me. "But I'll buy you more cookies if it means more dates."

"Nah, this cookie is enough. I might still date you even if there's no cookie promised though."

"Well that makes me happy to hear." I propped myself up on my elbow as I looked down at Ellie who was squinting her eyes to look up at me. "Here, put these on." I took my sunnies off from my head & then I put them on her. "Better?"

"I can see you now!" She joked. "Much better."

& then I leaned forward & I kissed her.

"& how about now?"

"A lot better."

"Your lips taste like a cookie, Elle."

"So do yours."

"Maybe we should eat cookies more before we kiss."

"I like that idea."

"Good."

& then I laid back down beside her & Ellie rested her head on my arm before turning into my chest a bit.

"You know, Ellie. I like you a lot."

"I like you a lot too."

We laid in the grass together for a bit longer but eventually we decided to leave.

"Do you have anything else to do today? Because you can come over if you want." Ellie told me as I was just about to drive down her street. "I mean you don't have to but it's still kind of early so-."

"I'll come over, yea."

"Cool."

Once at Ellie's we quickly said hey to her parents before heading up to her room.

Her room was how I wished mine could look. She had a red wall that was covered in pictures from gigs she went to & a few of her up with her band, she had posters on other walls, she had her box drum. It was sick.

"I don't know what you want to do but I thought we could hang out some more."

"That's fine. We don't have to do much, Elle."

"Do you want to see the cover we're uploading to youtube this weekend?"

"Yea. I didn't know you guys filmed one."

"We did the other night."

"What song?"

"You'll have to wait." Ellie grabbed her laptop & then she took a seat on her bed. "Come watch."

& then she opened up a file on her computer & they had recorded a cover of Fall Out Boy's Uma Thurman & it was sick. Ellie drumming was just so hot. It seriously was.

"I love it."

"Really?"

"Yea. I do. I think people will like it too."

"Good. I mean our youtube isn't too popular but every video gets us some more views & subscribers so it's worth a shot."

"I agree. Do you have any gigs anytime soon?"

"I think we do in like two weeks. It's a bar downtown. I could get you & the guys in if you want, you know the whole being under eighteen thing, but that's only if you want to come."

"Of course I'll come. Do you really think I'd miss my girlfriend's show?"

"Oh. Girlfriend?"

Ellie shut her laptop & then she turned to look at me. I could tell she was trying to hide her smile but she was failing...big time. She was all smiles.

"Yea. I think you should be my girlfriend. I mean if you want to be."

"Yea." She nodded before she leaned up to kiss me. It was the first time she initiated the kiss & I think she even took herself by surprise but it was too cute.

"Good." I wrapped my arms around her waist before I pulled her down onto the bed with me & then I just held her in my arms as I kissed the top of her head. "I'm not kidding, I really like you a lot, Ellie."

"I like you too, Luke. I'm scared but I like you."

"Are you still scared because what we talked about last time?"

"A little. I mean you're the Luke Hemmings & I'm just this little Ellie."

"No, you're the Ellie Walker & I like the Ellie Walker."

"I don't think I'll get used to that."

"Used to what?"

"Someone liking me."

"Oh, Elle. Don't say that."

"I mean it. I've never had anyone like me this before."

"Well I do so get used to it."

"I'll try."

After spending the rest of the night laying in Ellie's room, I eventually had to head out even though I really didn't want to because I had Ellie. I had her.

i wrote this chapter like right after i heard Uma Thurman on the radio for the first time i think? so that's why it's the cover really. i do dig the song but it was like super cool for me to hear it in my car & then i had to put it into this chapter.

i don't really have any updates in cathy's life as of now. still in the middle of midterms & essays, still sort of seeing this cute boy & leaning how to cook for myself every night in my apartment lololololol #college
