I continued walking down the street with Marco next to me in silence. Words aren't needed. The feeling in my stomach is totally enough. "So, Charlie...I .." Marco rambled and I looked at him. He is handsome. Very handsome. "I'd like to talk, but I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to." he said and I smiled lightly. "Depends on what you wanna talk about." I mused and he smiled. "I don't know...what about future?" he posed and I giggled. "Future? I live now, in this moment." I replied and he nodded clenching his jaw. I guess I could be a little bit more polite. "But...well...What would you like to do in your future?" I asked as we were crossing the street.

"Football?" he quipped and I rolled my eyes. "Unpredictable." I said and he chuckled. "But I have a few targets in my personal life too." he added and I smiled gently. "Which ones?" I asked and he shrugged. "Firstly, find a woman. Not a girl, but a woman who'd love me. Then, I'd like to move in with her. Have a few babies." he explained and let out a nervous giggle. Not a girl, he wants a woman. "Who is a woman to you? I mean, what's the difference between a girl and a woman in your opinion?" I asked and he smiled looking at me. We stopped walking and my breath got heavier. "She has to know what she wants. I don't want a girl who'd run to a party. I want a woman who'd take care of me, love me. And sometimes, she could also cook." he explained and I bit my lip. I can take care of the others. I can even cook. And love? I can love to death. Wait, what am I thinking about?

I started walking again. I shouldn't be thinking like this... "What about your future plans?" Marco mused and I gulped. "Find a loving man and...settle down." I answered and he smiled. "What about babies?" he quipped and I blushed. "I...yeah. I'd like to be a mommy one day." I responded shyly and he smiled. "Mommy?" he repeated with a light chuckle and I punched his shoulder playfully. "Stop it!" I quipped and he smiled. "I can definitely imagine you being a mommy." he said and I shook my head. "I can't. Not right now." I said and looked at him. "Firstly...I need to fix my heart." I mumbled as we reached the building where I live now. "Quite nice." Marco commented looking up and I nodded. "The flat is very nice too. I still need a few things to make it a home, but I like it." I said and he smiled. "You know that smiling you is very beautiful?" he mused and I looked down on the pavement. "Marco..." I mumbled and felt his hands on my cheeks.

"I'm not playing games." he said and I looked up at him. He started leaning in and my heart started beating faster. Not like this, Charlie. You need to think about it at first. "Don't kiss me." I whispered. "Don't do it. Please." I repeated quietly and he stopped leaning in about one centimetre away from my lips. "You've been sticking around for a while now." I mused and he nodded. "Because I like you." he explained and I gulped. "Char, I know he...hurt you. But I'm not gonna do the same." he mumbled with his thumb running up&down my cheek. "He said the same." I whispered and looked into Marco's beautiful eyes. "But I mean it. And I bet he didn't have to fight for you this hard." he said and I took a shaky breath. "Charlotte!" somebody said from behind me and I turned around. "F-Felix?" I posed and he smiled. "I'm Felix, Charlotte's neighbour." he introduced himself and shook hands with Marco. "Marco, Charlie's friend." he said and I gulped. "I'll...go upstairs." I told Marco and he looked at me carefully. "Thanks for...being my walking partner." I said and Marco nodded. "Bye." I said and ran up the stairs hearing Felix telling me to wait for him. I almost let him in...what if I should have?

"W-wait!" Felix called and I stopped walking. "You're walking really fast!" he quipped and I shrugged. I'm thinking...what if he really means it? He...he doesn't have to be the one who only makes promises and then breaks it... "Could I invite you to my flat for a cup of coffee?"  he posed and I smiled. "No, no, thanks." I refused politely and he rolled his eyes. "C'mon! I'd like to know at least some basic facts about my neighbour." he said and gave me a wide grin. "Don't try that smile." I said and he chuckled. "C'moon!" he groaned and we stopped when I was in front of my door. "I'll have a cup of coffee at my place if you don't mind." I said and he made a sad face. "Please, only one cup." he said. I wanna be alone. With my thoughts. "No, thanks." I said and unlocked the door. "I'm sorry, maybe next time." I said and he nodded. "You won't run away the next time." he warned and I shrugged. "Bye bye." I said and closed the door. Marco...huh. Marco with a bright smile and beautiful pair of eyes.

Tuesday

Walking out of the office, I let out an excited squeal. I got a job! I got a job! Ladies and gentlemen, I'm not jobless anymore. I got the phone out of my bag and diald Sam's number. "Charlie." he said answering the phone. "I have a jooob!" I exclaimed while giggling happily. "Congrats! You made me so happy, Char!" he said and I furrowed my eyebrows. "What's the matter with your voice, Sam?" I mused opening the door of my car. "I don't know..probably getting ill or something." he said and I sighed. "I'll come to yours, make you soup and tea, okay?" I posed. "You're my angel, Charlie." he said and I chuckled. "I should be there in half an hour seeing the terrible traffic around me." I said. "Okay, don't hurry up. I can wait." he said and I started the engine. "Bye bye." I said and hung up. I can say that I'm satisfied. After a long time, I'm happy and satisfied.

"So? How's the soup?" I posed sitting down next to Sam who was hungry as hell. I think he hasn't eaten something as good as this in a while. "Fantastic." he said and I smiled. Fiddling with the hem of my blouse, I was deep in my thoughts. When am I gonna meet Marco again? I don't even know why I'm thinking about him... it has to be his eyes doing this to me. "Charlotte?" Sam said and I shot my gaze up. "More?" I asked quickly pointing on the empty plate. "What were you thinking about?" he asked and I gulped. "Or who were you thinking about?" he teased and I rolled my eyes. "I'm gonna answer myself then. Is it Marco Reus?" he asked and I blushed lightly. "Maybe." I mumbled shyly and he chuckled. "I heard that you let him touch your cheeks. Good job!" he said and I bit my lip. "Where did you get that from?" I muttered nervously and he shrugged.

"The birds are singing." he responded and I rolled my eyes. "Char, it's not bad. We all know this had to happen. Those ice walls can't be held up til the end of your life." he explained and I sighed. "I don't wanna fall for a man too soon." I mumbled and he nodded. "I get it, but...if...if he's not special, you wouldn't have let him get that close to you." he said and I shook my head. "I'd let Oliver get very close yet he wasn't the special one." I muttered and he nodded. "But he is an idiot. Marco isn't one." he said and I shrugged. "I don't wanna get hurt again." I whispered and he took my hand in his. "Okay, listen. Keep your guard up, but let him be around you. Then, you can think about whether he's worth it or not." he suggested and I furrowed my eyebrows. "Worth what?" I mused and he smiled. "Worth letting the walls down." he answered and I blushed gently. "I wish falling in love had traffic lights, so that I'd know if I should go for it, slow down or just stop." I mumbled and he pointed on his T-shirt. "I'm wearing a green T-shirt." he said and I blushed deeper shadow of pink. "Go for it." he said.
