Differences - Kaoru x reader

The room was empty. The lights lay low as it trickled through the few gaps in the curtains. You sat in the middle of the room, letting your loneliness envelope you. You finally broke down, the tears streaming down your face as you buried your eyes in your hands. S-shake the damn feeling off. Y-you don't matter. It's a-all for Mori-senpai... Nothing revolves around you... Friends are meaningless anyway... You tried to muffle your sobs, hoping they wouldn't come find you. Just seeing Honey-senpai face like that, was enough to break you completely. You let your thoughts start to drown you as the door creaked open. Footsteps broke through your train of thought, making you look up.
"K-kaoru?" He didn't look angry, or even disappointed. Just confused.
"Argh! I'm so stupid, Kaoru! I'm pathetic! I can't even get through my life without ruining other peoples!" You cried out, fresh tears blurring your vision as you felt him move down to you. You felt arms wrap around you, making you stop, tears only running down your cheeks as he buried his head in your shoulder.
"Why'd you do it?" He pulled away. He was kneeling in front of you, hands on your shoulders, making you look at him.
"I'm not worth his time. He's... He's so attached to me. I tried, I really did, to make him spend time with others... With Mori-kun... But he never would. I'm never going to be of any use to him, to anyone. He needs to see that... He just won't listen to me... Whenever I looked at Mori... He looked so angry, so hurt... Because Honey-senpai, likes me... And I was in between... It's not Honey's fault that I'm so stupid... He's just too kind..." You trailed off. Kaoru brought you into another embrace. You hugged him back, and buried your head in the crook of his neck.
"I want you to know, you're not stupid. Not to anyone. It's all in your head. The only thing you are is selfless. Extremely selfless. And that's not a flaw. You need to know that you're an amazing person. I can't imagine anyone in that world that is better than you. You really need to know that..." You felt your tears return, staining his shirt and you clung to him.
"Y/N-CHAN!" You heard the small voice cry, making you let go of Kaoru as you spun round. The small boy flung himself at you, hugging you tightly.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean a single word. I-I'll never be able to say enough sorrys to you. I'm so stupid." You clung to him tightly, burying your face in the small boy as he cried happy tears.
"I though you hated me! I already forgive you. I heard everything." He laughed and cried, making you smile. You stood up and spun him round, finally laughing as you tears still spilled from your eyes.
"Thank god! I don't know what I'd do without you. I have so much cake to make for you!" You laughed as he cheered, both of you crying awkwardly as Kaoru still knelt on the floor, smiling at you softly. You stopped spinning as a figure approached.
"M-mori-senpai..." He didn't say a word. he arms enveloped you both, taking you by surprise.
"I'm sorry." He mumbled. You laughed lightly and hugged him back. Next thing you knew, Kaoru, Hikaru, Haruhi and even Kyoya joined. You smiled, laughing as your tears were overflowing.
"Yay! We're all one big happy family." Honey broke from the group and grabbed your's and Mori's hand.
"Let's go play!" You laughed as he dragged you off, wiping away the last of you tears. Even Mori managed a small smile. But the one thing you noticed as you were dragged through the door, was Tamaki. Cross-armed and scowling.


And the smile was wiped right off your face.
