Differences - Kaoru x reader

You froze. Turning round slowly, you met the eyes of a young woman standing in front of you.
"I'm sorry, mam. It's just, I was told to come down, but I didn't want to interrupt them." She didn't look terribly threatening, but you thought it best to just tell her. She smiled, which lifted the tension from your shoulders.
"You must be miss Y/N! You've certainly made an impact on the young masters. To be honest, when you're mentioned, it's the only time I can possibly tell the two apart." You furrowed your brows together and looked at her.
"What do you mean by that?" She gave you the kind of smile that just told you you were being stupid. You must be though, since she didn't explain well.
"Oh. It's nothing really. Kaoru just goes awfully quiet." You didn't have time to reply as the doors behind you opened. You spun round to meet the eyes of Hikaru, but he seemed neither happy nor joyous to see you. You felt your eyes move to the ground as he pushed past, and felt the maid leave alongside him. The door hit you arm as it shut, laying on you. It made you look up, but only to meet the eyes of Kaoru.
"I heard you arguing." You took a small step forward so the door shut softly behind you. The tension hung in the air like clouds. There was a rather obvious elephant in the room.
"Oh." Kaoru rubbed the back of his neck. You could see the tint lighting his cheeks, even if he was standing on the other side of the room. You felt your feet move you round the table towards him.
"It's my fault, isn't it? That Hikaru's mad?" His eyes snapped back up to yours.
"W-what? No! I mean... Hikaru thinks it is. Not that it is but..." You found yourself giggling, cutting him off.
"What's so funny?" You didn't look like anything was funny, yet you still laughed.
"I'm really great at getting in the way, aren't I? First Honey and Mori, now you and Hikaru. Hikaru's mad and I'm pretty sure Tamaki hates me for some reason or another. I not doing that much good for you guys, am I?" You smiled up at Kaoru as his expression dropped. You felt like your awkward smile was plastered to your face, till Kaoru wrapped his arms around your waist and hugged you. You felt you drugged happiness melt away in shock.
"I know, that all of this seems like you're only messing up, but you're not. Honey's never been happier, and I've seen Mori smile more since you came than the whole time I've known him. Tamaki's just used to having the attention, and Hikaru... Hikaru needs to get himself straight, because I was worried about you the whole time you were in there, and he was only thinking about himself. It might not seem like it, but you've done a lot more good things than you have bad." You buried yourself in Kaoru's shoulder and felt yourself smile as you hugged him back.
"I've still done bad things though." You felt yourself murmur to him. He pulled away and saw your light smirk.
"Will you just shut up and let me be all deep-like for once?" A giggle sounded from you as you buried your face back in his shoulder.
