Differences - Kaoru x reader

You climbed the stairs steadily, trying not to drop anything from the tray that you were holding. You wandered past Hikaru, who looked at you before walking away again. The look in his eyes showed hesitation. You took it as nothing until he called you.
"Y/N?" You turned round and looked at him to show that you were listening. "I'm... I'm sorry. For being so rude to you... Before... It's just that Kaoru's never been as close to someone else... As he is with you before... And I thought you were taking him from me... But he's still here... And you're still being so nice... After I was horrible to you.." You found yourself staring at him in surprise.
"I-it's okay. Really. I get your position. If I was as close to Kaoru as you are I'd be just as protective." You smile at him, making him nod and laugh awkwardly.
"Heh. Well, by now I'd say you two are pretty close anyway. You going to see him now?" You find your cheeks redden slightly as you look away and nod awkwardly. Hikaru smiles and pats you on the head.
"He's in our room. He's ill, so you better look after him for me whilst I'm out. I'd do it, but he asked me to do something for him." You nod, and continue on your journey up the stairs. You open the door to Hikaru and Kaoru's room, making sure to close it behind you.
"He fell for it, huh?" Kaoru sat up from under his duvet and smirked lightly.
"You doubted my acting skills?" You laughed at him.
"I think Hikaru trusts you too much." Kaoru flicked the sheets off of his body and kicked his legs out of the bed.
"You did doubt my acting skills." You looked Kaoru up and down before slapping your hand over your eyes as you felt the heat rise rapidly to your cheeks.
"Put some damn clothes on."



You grabbed Kaoru's hand as you saw the rest of the group, minus Haruhi and Hikaru of course. You pulled him along with you until you reached everyone else, who seemed to be attempting to subdue Tamaki from running at Haruhi and 'saving' her from Hikaru.
"What did we miss?" You stop running right in front of Mori.
"Not much." Kyoya stated.
"EXACTLY! WE HAVE TO GET HARUHI NOW BEFORE SOMETHING DOES HAPPEN!" You sighed and shook your head at Tamaki.
"She'll be fine. And they're moving, by the way." You pointed at the two as they walked away. The group started to walk as Honey came beside you.
"What's up?" Honey looked up at you with a pout.
"I wanna hold you hand to!!" You gave him a confused look before looking t you're right, and realising neither you or Kaoru had let go of each others hand. Kaoru himself was talking to Kyoya, so you turned back to Honey with a slightly redder face and nodded.
"S-sure. O-of course you c-can..." Honey gripped your hand, smiling intensely as the group continued to follow the duo.
