I'm Not Afraid of the Dark (Yuto x Reader)

*le time skippy to that afternoon*

A knock sounded at the door, and you quickly grab your duel disk and deck before going to answer it. You knew who it would be before you even opened the door, as your mother had told you that Yuzu wanted to walk with you to You Show, but it was still a pleasant surprise to see your pink-haired friend on your doorstep.

"Yuzu, you're early!" You greet her with a smile.

"I wanted to pick up some ice-cream for everyone on the way there. I hope you don't mind."

You shake your head in amusement. Thinking about others was just so like her.

"It's fine. I'm ready anyway." You shout a quick goodbye to your mum and close the door behind you, taking the first steps towards the shops on the way to You Show. Yuzu soon catches up.

"I have talked to Yuya a bit about what you told me. He was wondering whether just the three of us could stay back after class, or go to the park or something and talk. Do you think that would be okay?"

You nod. "Is Yuya the only one you've told? Not your dad or anyone else?"

"He is the only one. And he will keep it to himself too."

You relax slightly at that. The two of you walk in silence for a bit until you reach the shops. Yuzu buys some ice-creams, and you help her carry them to You Show.

When you arrive, Shuzo has everyone seated on the couches. Yuya greets you with a smile, and you return it. The three kids are talking amongst themselves, and Sora has been going over his deck. He stops though when he sees what you have brought.

"Is that . . . ice-cream?!"

You nod and he immediately rushes up to you.

"Yay! Gimmegimmegimme!"

You smirk, and hide them behind your back. "Yuzu bought them. Thank her first."

He pouts, but obeys, and you give him an ice-cream. He runs back to his spot to indulge in his treat, content.

"Why are we all gathered here?" You hand out the remainder of the ice-creams before thanking Yuzu and taking one for yourself.

Shuzo gets you and Yuzu to sit down before he addresses the group.

"Now, as a lot of you know, the Junior Arc League Championship is coming up, and I wanted to know how many of you are entering, and have qualified."

Your mood lightens up at this. With everything that has happened, you had almost forgotten about the Championship.

"Do you have our records so that we can see whether we qualify?"

Shuzo nods and brings up everyone's profiles. He clicks on yours, and you quickly skim through. You sigh when you see that you easily qualify.

"I assume that means that you're entering?" You answer Yuya with an enthusiastic nod. Shuzo smiles.

"Then that means that once Yuya and Sora qualify, everyone will be competing! Go You Show!!" You don't have to look to know that Yuzu is sweat-dropping. "Yeah! We are going to win!" Yuzu saves you all by hitting him with her fan before he can add anything else.

Shuzo holds his head and quiets down. "You're no fun. I don't have any class for you today, so you guys can practice amongst yourself, and basically have free time."

You shake your head. So much for him actually teaching like a teacher is meant to. Yuzu glances at you and Yuya before running after her father. She comes back only a couple of minutes later, with a contented smile on her face.
