Aura takes the first turn.
"I draw!"
She smirks at you, already confident that she will win.
"I'm sorry (y/n), but with the hand I have, there is no way I'll lose. It's written in the cards."
Aura looks back to her hand briefly before pulling a spell card.
"I activate Prediction Ritual! I offer my Prediction Princess Crystaldine and prediction princess Arrowsylph from my hand to the great beyond to unlock the secrets of the mystic. Oh, ancient sorceress appears through the veil of life and may the supernatural secret spell awaken you without strife! I ritual summon Prediction Princess Tarotrei!"
Aura's ace monster descends onto the field. The crowd roars response.
You glance at the cards in your hand. It appears you might actually have to fight a bit for this win, though you would never admit it to her.
"Now, as it is my first turn unfortunately my Tarotrei cannot attack. So, I'll end my turn there. Your turn."
Aura gives you her sweetest smile. You shudder. The 'cute' act doesn't fool you for a second. You know what happened in Yuya's match. Aura is cool and calculating in the face of adversity. You can't let your guard down.
Unfortunately, your starting hand isn't exactly your best, especially when dealing with an ace monster first up.
You take a deep breath and draw.
The eerie green glow of the action field seems to leer at you. It fills you with unease.
You take another breath. It does little to steady you.
Your hand leaves you with limited options, so you decide to play it safe and bet on your next draw.
"I play (level 4 or below monster) face down in defence mode and set two face downs."
It isn't much, but right now is the best you have.
"I end my turn."
Aura snickers.
"That the best you've got. You disappoint me."
She draws.
"Alright then, I play my Prediction Princess Astromorrigan in attack mode."
You frown slightly. It wasn't like her to react play by play. She usually had an end game in mind.
Yes, your face down seemed like easy game, but surely she saw your trap cards.
Oh well, it's her loss.
"Now my Astromorrigan, attack (y/n)'s monster!"
Your monster is destroyed. [Sorry if your monster has high defence or a flip effect or something like that, but for the purpose of this I want to keep it relatively simple.]
The small conquest fuels her ego even more.
"Oh dear, it seems that you are out of plays already. Tarotrei, attack (y/n) directly!"
She was being careless, as you had thought.
"I activate my trap card, Magic Cylinder. [If you don't own this card, congratulations because now you do!] Your Tarotrei's attack is negated and you take her attack points as damage."
Aura seems shocked as her life points take the hit. It doesn't surprise you however. She had no spell or trap cards as back up defence after all. For once she was only concerning herself with the present.
It takes a moment before she responds, her voice seeming quieter.
"I end my turn."
It is your turn to smirk, though it doesn't last long. Everything is riding on this draw.
