"So, as you guys already know, Josh and I have two very important women in our lives," Tyler says before Tear In My Heart is due to start. I frown slightly at Jenna, who's smiling smugly to herself. Tyler doesn't usually do a speech before this song, so something important must be happening. That's when I see Josh get up behind his drum kit, and he walks onto the stage next to Tyler.
"Jenna, my love, could you and Y/N please come onto the stage?" Tyler asks, looking in our direction. I instantly snap out of my thoughts, and follow Jenna on stage. Her and Tyler kiss each other, sending the crowd into a chorus of whoops and cheers. I walk over to Josh, who embraces me.
"Hello, love," he whispers in my ear. I whisper hello back as the both of us aren't at ease at talking into a microphone.
"Uh, Josh, don't mean to panic you, man, but can you please hurry up a little? We've got a show to put on," Tyler says, interrupting us. Josh glares at him whilst the audience laugh, making me a little nervous. Tyler hands Josh a microphone, and he starts talking:
"So, um, Y/N," he stammers, fiddling around with something in his pocket, "I know this is awfully cliche and all, but may I just say that when I first saw you on that beach in Bali, laughing with your friends, igniting in conversation, well, I think that's when I fell in love with you, despite us not knowing each other. I like how we're both a little awkward around people, but...um...oh gosh, I'm nervous." He chuckles a little. "Sorry," he apologises to the audience before continuing his speech. "Anyway, I love you so much, and I'm so so PROUD of how amazing you are. Everyday when I wake up, I smile at the thought that I'll be waking up next to you. I love it when you tell me off for pouring the milk before the cereal - which is the correct way by the way. I love it when we just cuddle up in our sweatshirts and watch old movies together. I love our little trips to the ice cream place down the street, and I especially love going to that old second-hand bookshop with you. You know the one I mean, right?" I nod. That's when he gets down on one knee, putting the microphone down, and replacing it with a ring. I gasp, utterly surprised.
"I'm not finished with the speech yet," Josh chuckles, "because I've got one more thing to say. You know all those things that I listed about you that I love? The reasons why I love those things is because I get to do it with you. And I'd love to continue to go on dates, eat ice cream and watch old movies together, but not as my girlfriend - but as my wife. So, Y/F/N, will you marry me?"
"Yes," I gasp, crying with happiness, "Joshua William Dun, it's a yes!" He puts the ring on my finger, and kisses me. The crowd erupt into applause as Tyler explains what Josh said since he didn't say it in the microphone. Tyler and Jenna clap and whistle as Josh hugs me tightly, never letting me go. I whisper in his ear the last verse in Tear In My Heart, but with the pronouns changed from 'she' to 'he':
"My heart is my armour, he's the tear in my heart, he's a carver, he's a butcher with a smile, cut me farther than I've ever been."
