12: First Day of Senior Year

"Yeah, you too." I smile before I lean over and gently kiss Scott on the lips. He happily kisses back for a few moments. His lips are soft and full, lingering with an earthly taste. Eventually though, we pull apart. I reluctantly start walking away from the werewolf. "I'll see you soon." I tell him before I turn around, readjusting my bag on my shoulders, walking to my first class.

Scott POV

I sigh longingly as I watch Stiles walk to his Psychology class. I wish we didn't have to go to separate classes. I shake my head slightly, reminding myself that our academic paths are of course going to be different because of the different careers we are wanting to follow. I can manage to be apart from Stiles for a couple classes. Although, that doesn't mean I can't think about him. I smirk to myself as I walk towards my first class. I enter the room and sit down between Kira and Lydia, quickly taking out my books and a couple of pens. I smile at Lydia and Kira as I settle into my seat and set out my things. I glance between my two friends for a moment, noticing them looking at me weirdly. Particularly Lydia. I wait for them to say something, but it's like they are having a silent conversation with each other. I decide to dismiss it and I turn towards the front, waiting for class to start. Suddenly, I hear Kira awkwardly cough beside me.

"Scott?" She asks timidly. I turn to her with a curious expression.

"Are you in the right class?" Kira questions me.

"AP Biology." I answer with a slight nod.

"Do you know what AP stands for?" Lydia asks from the other side of me skeptically. I turn to her to see her eyebrows raised. I can't help but chuckle and smile a little. "Advanced placement." I answer her, a smile still on my face. I'm really happy that I've gotten into this class. I've worked hard for it and it's going to lead me in the right direction to get into UC Davis. Lydia still looks unconvinced, so I open up my biology books. I've already got extensive notes and highlighted the key points in the text book. I glance from Lydia to Kira to see their reactions. The two girls exchange a surprised, but impressed look. I shake my head slightly before I take a deep breath and turn back to the front, ready to focus. I'm a little surprised that Kira and Lydia didn't think I was smart enough to be in this class. It doesn't do anything to boost my confidence, but I don't let that bother me. Besides, Stiles really believes in me and has already told me plenty of times that I am smart enough for this class and to be a vet. I'm very grateful for his support. Stiles makes me feel like anything is possible. Suddenly, the teacher walks in. "Welcome to AP Biology. Let's see who's awake." She says, getting into the lesson straight away. I pick up my pen, ready to take notes. The teacher leans against the desk.

"Can somebody tell me what plasmids are?" She asks the class. Oh no, I already have a bad feeling about this class. I just hope she doesn't pick me to answer. "Circular, self-replicating DNA molecules often used in cloning proteins." Lydia answers matter of factly. Mrs Finch nods in approval. "Nicely stated, Lydia. Now, can you tell me what vitamin is absorbed in the stomach via parietal cell production of a glycoprotein?" Lydia's smile fades away from her face at the new question being asked. "Uh..." Lydia mumbles, obviously not knowing the answer. I don't blame her, the teacher really put her on the spot. "B12." The teacher says after a moment. I glance down at my notebook and start taking notes on what Mrs Finch and Lydia have said. "Mr McCall, did you know the answer?" Mrs Finch speaks up a little louder, grabbing my attention. I glance up to see her staring at me, raising her eyebrows. Everyone has now turned to look at me. I feel embarrassed, especially since I didn't know the answer. "Um, no." I reply honestly.

"It's a common test question. You all should know it." The teacher states simply. I nod slightly in response.

"Where are you planning on going to college?" Mrs Finch asks me.
