Scott POV
"Scott? What the hell happened to you? Your face looks awful and you're bleeding and you're clothes are wrecked with slash marks!" Kara exclaims wildly as she gestures to me in my living room. I decided to call her over and tell her about what happened. I knew her reaction would be bad, and I haven't even told her why I'm injured yet, but I think she needs to know. Thankfully, Mom won't be home for a couple hours yet.
"I... I ran into some of Thalassa's guards... I knew I wouldn't win, but I tried to fight some of them off and... Well, you can see what they did to me." I answer with a sigh as I gesture to my bruised and bloody face. Everything is still taking ages to heal, probably because of the coldness and ice that the guard had sent up my arm. I can still feel the coldness in my bones, even if I've managed to scrub off the ice with Kara's help.
"Why aren't you healing?" Kara asks worriedly with a frown.
"I'll heal, Kara. It's just taking a little bit more time because of the ice. I'm glad I didn't get frostbite or anything from it. That would not be a pleasant thing to have, even if I would eventually heal from it. Maybe. I don't know. Ice and coldness slow the body's functions down, even a werewolf's, so maybe I wouldn't heal? Anyway, it doesn't matter, because I'm not in that situation." I reassure her calmly.
"Okay, so... Why were they attacking you?" Kara folds her arms against her chest.
"Uh, I think they might have heard that I tried to talk to Stiles and warn him about Thalassa." I answer nervously as I awkwardly rub the back of my neck. Kara's eyes widen in surprise.
"You what?" She shouts at me, making me wince slightly at the loud and angry tone of her voice.
"I couldn't help it, Kara. I wanted to try and warn him about how dangerous Thalassa is. I didn't want him to be left in the dark and think that everything is fine." I try to reason with the mermaid. Kara raises an eyebrow slightly.
"Did he believe you?" She asks skeptically.
"Well, no..." I reply in a mumble. Kara scoffs and rolls her eyes slightly, obviously expecting that answer. She takes a few steps towards me. "I thought we agreed that we would lay low and stay quiet about this!" Kara exclaims, sounding upset. I think I can see tears starting to well up in her eyes. I take her hands and squeeze them comfortingly. "Kara, it's okay! I'm okay! I'm not dead! They won't lay a finger on us, alright? It was worth a shot trying to get Stiles to believe me. Gave me a chance to talk to Thalassa. We both know where we stand now. She only threatened to kill me and everyone that I love if I interfere with her plans. Obviously we won't stop trying to save Stiles and Moselle, but you and I will just have to be more sneaky about what we do next." I reassure Kara in a calm voice.
"That still was a stupid idea, Scott. What the hell made you try it?" Kara asks exasperatedly, placing her hands on my hips.
"I don't know... I guess I'm just scared for him. I'm scared about what Thalassa might do to him and Moselle. I just thought that maybe if Stiles knew something wasn't right with Thalassa... Even if he did still love Moselle... I would feel safer knowing that Stiles is aware of her intentions and would be able to defend himself if need be." I explain to Kara in a quiet voice, shifting uncomfortably on my feet and my hands start fidgeting with the hem of my shirt. Kara stares at me sadly.
"And I've never really given up on Stiles. I've always tried to see the best in him." I add.
"Well, except for when you were with Samantha." Kara speaks up.
