"Um-" I being, but the teacher interrupts me.
"Stop saying 'um'. You need to be sure of yourself." She tells me.
"Sorry. I hope to get into UC Davis." I reply. Mrs Finch nods in approval.
"Good choice. It's the best school on the West Coast for biological and physical sciences. You're in the right class if that's what you're hoping for." She comments. I let myself smile a little. The teacher then looks around at everyone else.
"Who else thinks that they are in the right class?" She raises her eyebrows. Slowly, everyone puts their hand up.
"Good. Then you all should be prepared for the test tomorrow." Mrs Finch states. Everyone around me groans in annoyance, knowing that they'll probably have to cram in study tonight. "Don't be so disappointed. This test is specifically designed to help you determine whether or not you should actually be in AP Biology. You'll have two weeks to drop this class." The teacher continues.
"Tomorrow's test will just weed out the ones who shouldn't be here. That could be any of you." She says as she looks back over to me. It's probably unintentional, but I feel singled out now. It's like even the teacher doesn't think I should be in this class. I shift in my seat uncomfortably before I sink lower into it, feeling embarrassed. I hope I can prove Mrs Finch wrong. The teacher in question then goes over to the board and starts writing stuff down. I quickly follow along by writing notes down in my book.

I sit down outside of the school on one of the stairs, all of my books resting in my lap. I have a free period, which is great, since I just had double AP Biology. The lesson really made me question if I will have the determination to continue with the class. I stare out at the few groups of students milling about, moving towards their next class. "Hey! Scott!" I hear someone call out from behind me. My heart jumps at the sound of the voice. I turn around to see Stiles rushing over to me with a smile on his face. He quickly sits down next to me. "You have a free too? That's great. It means I get to spend more time with you." Stiles gushes, the smile still spread across his face. I chuckle lightly at his enthusiasm. "How was Psychology?" I ask my boyfriend curiously.
"Yeah, it was really good, actually. It was pretty much an introductory lesson and we watched some scenes of this movie called 'The Stanford Prison Experiment', which was based on a real experiment performed in the early 70's. Dude, the experiment was so messed up, I can't believe that Philip Zimbardo got away with it. Sure, there wasn't a code of ethics back then and people could do any experiment they like, but I feel as if it would be common sense to stop the experiment if it's seriously harming the participants. It's scary how quickly people can change from one thing and become another, given the right circumstances. Good thing that there is a code of ethics in place today." Stiles explains to me in an excited tone. I smile as he talks, glad that he's clearly already enjoying the subject. "Mmm, sounds interesting." I nod.
"Yeah, you're totally missing out." Stiles laughs and nudges me in the shoulder. I chuckle in response.
"So, how's my super smart boyfriend going in AP Biology?" Stiles asks, wriggling his eyebrows mischievously, which causes me to giggle a little bit. I'm not sure if I'm as smart as Stiles thinks I am, but I really do appreciate his opinion. It gives me confidence when I really need it. "Well, I've got a test tomorrow, which will decide if I should really be in that class or not." I answer the merprince beside me.
