i opened my eyes to see Maya standing in front of me with a shocked expression on her face, which slowly turned into a big smile. "Jake!" she cried wrapping her arms around me for a brief moment and then realizing something was wrong. "what happened? please, tell me." she pleaded. "i...i've been seeing myself lately." i said. "um, what exactly do you mean? like you're have an existential crisis or something?" Maya asked. "No, i haven't had one of those in a really long while, but i have been seeing people who look and talk like me, they say they're from different timelines, and different universes. i met this really weird angel guy, and futuristic evil version of me, and the evil me is what's been worrying me." i told her. "well, how about we sit down and talk about what's happened so far?" Maya asked. i agreed, and we both sat down at the long dining table inside the mansion of where i had just fought Akio. i explained to Maya what's been going on since i met the other mes. "so you killed him? then i don't get the problem?" Maya asked me. "it's the dreams i've been having lately, it's evil me showing me people, my mother, you, he's been showing me ways of how he intends to kill everyone around me. at first i thought they were just dreams, but...." i told her the rest of the story and she looked at me sympathetically. "look, whatever happens, know, you're not a villain, even if you don't see yourself as a hero." she put her arm on my shoulder. "i'm not a hero, nor do i want to be, and i don't want to be a villain either." "y'know there is something evil you got right in the dreams? your emotional detachment is becoming...well more attached is the best way to describe it." Maya said to me. "I've never felt human emotions on a regular scale. whenever i used to show them, they were probably the biggest scale they could be, but i now try to hide my self, and that's how i want it to be." i told her. she looked a little bit hurt, but i couldn't say much for long however, because just then Akio came bursting through the building really, really angry.
meanwhile however at the Resistance HQ Samantha is relaxing with a hot cup of coffee and sets it down to look at the boyish monkey in front of her. "long time no see, huh Samantha?" the monkey asked. "what is it you want exactly Lay?" Samantha asked. "nothing, figured after 10 years of knowing each other, we'd want to catch up on what's been going on in our life?" Lay answered. "that certainly isn't nothing, besides, you remember when we met, right?" Samantha asked. "yeah, i know it too well. i was kicking your ass." Lay said. "no i was kicking yours." Samantha argued. "heh, we'll just have to agree to disagree." Lay said. Samantha took another sip of her coffee and said "agreed." "so anyway, what else do you want, Lay?" Lay thought for a moment and suddenly Samantha dropped her coffee, strangely it was slowly falling in the air, and blocked Lay's fist. "still good enough to move at this speed, huh, old hag?" Lay said. "watch your tongue boy, or you might just find yourself powerless against my beauty." Samantha smirked. Lay growled and then kicked Samantha out the window of her office into the forest. "time to have some fun, y'know like the old days!" Lay exclaimed. seeing Samantha's engraved trail of dirt with her Grinning while she was getting up Lay could tell, he just re awoke the witch.
