Meanwhile inside of reality Lay, and Samantha have continued their duel and led them far into the woods. Lay being flung back break tree after tree going on for miles suddenly stops and starts aching. "ohhhh, why do you have to hit so hard? you never were this strong back on-" Lay moaned as Samantha flew over and grabbed him by the throat. "don't you ever speak of that place, you understand? it was destroyed ages ago, after..." Lay laughed and then kneed her in the rib cage forcing Samantha to release him. "ow! you son of a monkey!" Samantha cried out. Lay got back up on his feet and punched her in the face forcing her on the ground. "yeah, well, my home's still in tact, or at least the dimension it was in is, as for my family? well, i hope and pray they're alive....heh, pray, that's something people used to do for us, huh?" Lay said smiling at the new thought running through his mind. Samantha got up on her feet, as they both were tired of fighting they decided to just drop down and rest. "i know what you mean, US, of all people managed to survive what was basically our worst nightmares. i mean Apocalypse isn't even the worst we could call it. we were innocent and doing no harm, besides our usually routine of being tricked and then punishing someone, but when i think of all the others out there, the ones who had worse fates then us? well, let's just say we got lucky landing on this planet, which by the way, being the first two to land after it being hidden? well, it felt like paradise for a while, huh?" Samantha said. "you know somethin'?" Lay asked. Samantha looked at him curious. "i think you still talk too much." Lay remarked. Samantha shot back with "yeah?" "and i think you still have that same old habit of lookin' below my eyes old geezer." Lay shouted "old hag!" and then the two kept shouting other insulting names for the elderly back and forth. "alright, time to bring out the stick." Lay say summoning the long gray stick. "that old thing? that probably doesn't even have any magic power in it anymore?" Samantha commented. "yeah, well we're in a world where it doesn't matter." Lay told her. "Extend." and suddenly the short stick extended taking Samantha along with it through the forest breaking even more trees on the way. "man, maybe we should be a little more careful, i mean these trees, they don't deserve this?" Lay asked thinking for a few moments. "nah, sympathy is overrated." Lay told himself and then chased after Samantha.
When i woke up i immediately went to see Maya's frozen cold corpse. "how long have i been out?" i asked myself. i used my powers to let me check on what time of the day it was, and it was apparently already 10' o clock. "i'm not stupid enough to try bringing back the dead, but i feel like i should at least try. especially since i may need to do it again in the future." i thought to myself. i closed my eyes and concentrated on Maya's heart. i tried use all of kinds of resurrections i could think of at once hoping one might work. "come on, come on!" but nothing was working. "i think the real problem is me?" i said to myself looking at my hand trembling. "why, is it that my entire body is shaking? it can't be because of Maya? i barely knew her?" then it hit me "no, no no no no. definitely not that, not because of him." i said. My future self's power may have been too overwhelming, which is why i used my black flame to try finish him as quick as possible. "GAH! STOP NOW!" i shouted at the top of my lungs, but my hand wouldn't stop shaking. "what's wrong with me? I've never once felt fear from any foe i faced since coming here. i told everything head on like it was a game and overcame trials easily, but why now? why all of a sudden me from so far across time and space, that i now am trembling?" i asked myself scared out of my mind. "the reason i can't resurrect Maya, is because my fear in my subconscious is holding me back." i closed my eyes and took a deep breath, and tried to calm down. i sat on the white floor with my legs crossed and just...waited...waited for an opportunity to focus and calm my nerves again. i sat for hours doing nothing, and even though it infuriating not doing something like moving around, i still sat there waiting to calm down enough to prepare my next five steps ahead of my future self, and trust me with the time i had? it was way more than five steps. i finally got my nerve calmed down and decided to use my powers once again, this time, no holding back. my hands glowed green, since i thought that a good healing-like color and focused on Maya's heart. "focus, use everything you got." i thought to myself. at first nothing was happening, so i decided to crank the intensity up to 1100. as i struggled to maintain my composure the energy i was releasing was growing brighter and bigger, and soon a bright light big enough to been seen as an atomic bomb was showing, and me and Maya at the center of it. "AHHHH!" now my powers were being used way passed my body's limits. "I...WILL...SAVE......HER!!!!" i screamed as pushed through my body's insides starting to burst. "GRRR!" growled as i started to faintly hear a heartbeat. i stopped using my powers to listen more intently, and then as it grew louder and faster i smiled and collapsed on the floor with my thumb up in the air. the last thing i remember saying was "God, if you're out there. i did something, and even though i normally won't be doing it often, i just wanted you to know, i don't care whether you like me or not, nor the devil for that matter, but i think i put on one helluva display right now, and i'm good with that deed, especially when i see myself again, i'ma kick his ass." then i quietly faded into black to the sound of Maya's voice panicking over my body.
