The next morning, I decided to walk over to Zim's house to check on how he was recovering. I knocked on his door and almost immediately, two robotic parents opened the door. "Welcome home, son!" I smiled, a little weirded out, and walked inside. "Oh, it's you again. Hi!" Zim's robot greeted me from the couch with a warm smile and I returned it. "Where's Zim at?" "Master's in his lab. Lemme get him. MASTER!" The robot shouted, walking from the couch into the kitchen. "What is it now, Gir?" "Your friend is here!!" "My friend?" Zim turned the corner, no disguise on, and I put a hand up in a wave. "Oh, hello, Y/N." He didn't seem excited, but he didn't seem annoyed, either. "How are you doing? Are you feeling any better?" I asked, trying not to focus on his giant magenta eyes. "Yes, yes, I am fully recovered now. Irkens do not take long to heal." He moved his antennae up and down and wiggled his fingers to prove his point. "Well, I just came to check on you, so..I'm glad you're doing well." Not really knowing what else to do at this point, I turned my back towards the door, and as soon as I went to turn the doorknob, a voice started yelling from outside.

"Alright, Zim! I have all the proof I have right here! I'm gonna go to Y/N's house and show her!" Zim rolled his eyes and leaned against his door to answer. "You're stupid! She shut the door on you last time!" "Maybe..but she won't once I tell her the information I have now!" I tried not to laugh as Zim glanced at me with a smile. "Aren't you gonna come out here and stop me?" Dib asked, sounding a little disappointed at the responses he was receiving. "Gir, bring me my disguise." Zim said quietly, and at almost lightning speed, Gir ran off and returned with the contacts and wig. Zim put them on, and then opened the door, to reveal himself. "What exactly are you expecting me to say? I clearly cannot stop you from doing...whatever a filthy human like you does, and Y/N and I are what you would call friends now. I guess your answer is that I don't need to 'come out and stop you' because I already have." Dib blinked, a look of disbelief on his face.

"You're kidding, right? Y/N is your FRIEND? Are you sure it's not that she feels bad for you?" I tried not to blow my cover by stepping in as I listened to the conversation. This kid just doesn't know when to stop, does he? "Yes, Y/N is my friend. We, uh..hang out! And do whatever friends do! Not that you would know what friend stuff is, pathetic Dib!" Zim exclaimed, shoving a gloved finger into Dib's face. "I guess you're right, Zim." Dib sighed. "Well, this isn't going to stop me! If she's on your side now, then I'll have to try even harder to show the world the truth about you!" "Gnomes, take him away." Zim's smile was almost evil as his...garden gnomes moved forward and dragged Dib off of Zim's lawn. "Now that he's taken care of...what do friends do?" Zim asked, using his spider legs from his alien backpack to prop himself up on the couch. He gestured for me to sit next to him. "Well, friends hang out, you got that part right, and um..friends take care of each other, you know? Like how I helped you last night from your crash?" He nodded, waiting for me to continue. "And friends don't lie to each other, either. That's a really important part of human friendship." His face grew what looked to be anxious at the last part, but he covered it up almost immediately. "Well, you are clearly superior to the terrible people of this planet, so I will take your friendship with pride." He stated, causing me to smile.

"That may have been the nicest thing you've said since I've met you." "Yeah, well, DO NOT GET USED TO IT! I am not nice! Not normally.." He responded, and I couldn't stop myself from laughing a little. "Alright, well, I appreciate your kindness to me, then. Where'd your robot go?" "His name is Gir, or whatever you want to call him, he doesn't really care and neither do I. Gir! Come here, this is my...friend. Her name is Y/N. Introduce yourself." "Hi! I'm Gir! I like tacos, taquitos, turquoise, turtles-" "You must really like the letter T, huh?" "NO! I HATE THE LETTER T!" Gir said, tears filling his bright blue eyes. "I just like stuff that starts with T." His tearful eyes were immediately replaced with cheerful ones, and I was almost shocked at how well he could express emotion. "You should take some lessons from Gir, Zim. He shows emotion better than you do." Zim narrowed his eyes, annoyed, as Gir giggled. "Well, you are good at showing THAT emotion. Anger? Annoyance? Which one is it?" "Both of them." Zim grumbled, and I laughed, putting a hand on his shoulder. "We are going to have to work on emotion."
