Zim glared at the TV, watching the filthy monkey on the screen. He scowled. That HORRIBLE monkey... he snuck a glance at Y/N, who was watching the show with Gir comfortably. She was so kind to him...why? He glanced away almost immediately when she noticed he was watching her. Did Dib put her up to this? Was she a spy for the humans? Zim had studied up on human attraction when he landed on this horrible planet, as he researched human emotion. Maybe she was attracted to him? He had to know why she would have any reason to be kind to him, and so of course, his only option was to make a scene about it. The TV turned black and Zim dropped the remote on the couch. "HEYYYY! We were watchin' thaaaat!" Gir whined, and Zim pointed into the kitchen. "There are tacos in the kitchen, Gir." "WAHOO!" Gir ran off, excited, as Y/N smirked. "Are there really any tacos in the kitchen?" "No." Zim responded, wondering how he was to word his question.
"Y/N, if I may ask you, what are the emotions you feel towards me?" Y/N looked to be taken aback by Zim's question, but she shrugged. "Well, I enjoy your company, so I am happy...but you don't really enjoy hanging out much, so sometimes that makes me sad...you're one of the only friends I have around here, so when we have plans to hang out, then I get excited...um, that's about it. You annoy me sometimes, too, but I figured I'd just stick with the nice emotions." "Huh..." Zim answered, looking away as he processed his thoughts. So she was NOT attracted to him. Why did he feel slightly disappointed? "I see." "Why? That's a pretty random question." "I was curious if you had human feelings of attraction towards me because of how nice you are. That is not the case, so there is no need to worry." Y/N was immediately flustered, her cheeks turning pink as Zim returned his eyes to her. "I was just-hey, what's wrong with your face?"
"I guess I'm just a little, um..shocked that you would assume that and state it so bluntly, Zim." He sighed, crossing his arms. "No human here has ever been kind to me. Most of them don't pay me any attention besides the FILTHY DIB, but I just found it strange that you enjoyed my company." "Hey, Zim, for the record, I hate all the humans here, too. You're way more normal than they are...of course I'd like being your friend." Y/N smiled, and Zim returned it, feeling his face sting a bit. What was THAT about? "I guess I can ask you what's wrong with YOUR face now?" She raised an eyebrow. "Uh-!" He brushed at his cheeks, attempting to make the tingly feeling go away, but it wouldn't...why wouldn't it go away?! "It's kinda cute seeing you blush. You DO feel emotions!" Y/N giggled, and Zim immediately defended himself. "Cute?! The amazing Zim does not take a word such as 'cute' to describe himself! I am too powerful to be considered... 'cute'." He gagged at the word, and Y/N's laughs increased. "Alright, now you're just being adorable." Zim's cheeks turned an even darker shade as he scowled. "Y/N, it is time for you to return home." He opened the door as she waved, still laughing, and began walking down the street.
Zim slammed the door, sliding back against it and groaning. What is this FEELING? "Computer! Why am I feeling the way that I am?!" "Because you like Y/N." "Yes, yes, Y/N is my friend, that is well known. I'm talking about what I'm feeling right now. Duh." "....you're feeling that way because you are experiencing a human emotion known as 'attraction'. This feeling could-" NO! STOP! I DO NOT EXPERIENCE THIS HUMAN ATTRACTION!" Zim shouted, dragging his hands down his face in slight fear. As soon as Y/N denied him, he tried to promise himself that this is NOT what was happening to him. "Can I finish now?" Computer asked after Zim interrupted. Zim didn't respond. "you're feeling that way because you are experiencing a human emotion known as 'attraction'. This feeling could lead to further human emotions of admiration, or love." "Computer, there's no way I could feel that way towards a human!" Zim was fearful of his own mind now. If he could lower his defenses this much, to appease to a human, then he really wasn't as strong as he thought he was! "Right, Computer? Tell me there's no way." "There is a way and you are already experiencing it. So. Good luck."
For the first time ever, Zim actually might need good luck!
