"How is one supposed to concentrate in here?" Zim shouted in annoyance over Gir's tea party with Y/N and a rubber pig. "By joining us," Y/N suggested, waving a hand over to her...not quite boyfriend? Zim narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms. "Master, I'll scoot over so you can sit by your girly-friend!" Gir cooed as Zim rolled his eyes. The alien slowly shuffled over, took a seat in between the girl and the robot, and sighed. "How is one supposed to 'tea party', then?" "You just drink the tea." Y/N smiled, holding the cup up to her mouth as Gir ran to the kitchen to make more. "I, for one, am just pretending, though, because this tea is horrible." She whispered, causing Zim to finally crack a smile and nod his head. "I made more teaaaa!" Gir screeched, overfilling Y/N's full glass, and filling Zim's empty one. "Mmm, yes, Gir...this tea is certainly..um..exquisite!" Zim exclaimed, winking at Y/N and pretending to take a sip. "I must have another glass! After I finish this one. But it may be too good to finish!" Zim continued his act at seeing Y/N giggle but was interrupted by an abrupt ringing sound. "It seems I am being contacted..." Zim's demeanor changed almost immediately as he stood from his chair and bolted to the kitchen exit down to his base.

"You think he's alright?" Y/N asked Gir who just shrugged and stood up, too. "Let's go scare 'em." Intrigued to get the chance to see Zim's base, Y/N followed the small robot into the kitchen where a trash can opened up. "Get in!" Gir encouraged, and seeing it as another one of his silly antics, the girl laughed and looked inside. Surprisingly, there was a tunnel leading straight down to what could only be the base Zim was so keen on hiding. She hesitantly stepped down and tried not to scream at how fast she shot down the tube. She hit the ground with Gir on top of her head giggling uncontrollably. Surrounding her was the buzz of technology and the hum of electronics doing their job. She stood up and brushed off her pants.

"A bit dark down here, isn't it, Gir?" "Master likes it that way." He shrugged, beginning to walk down the wide pathway. As they walked, Y/N could make out the familiar voice of her friend. "My Tallest, there seems to be a misunderstanding." "No misunderstanding, here, Zim. We have word from one of our weapon distributors that you offered one of the humans on Earth in trade for a high-power laser gun?" Y/N stopped in her tracks and gulped. "Yes, my leaders, but, the plan fell through." Zim said nervously, a sweat droplet beginning to slide down the right side of his face. "This better not happen again, do you understand? We can't have our workers know we still keep in contact with you." Before Zim could answer, the transmission was cut and he was left, standing alone.

A robot giggle snapped Zim out of the anxiety induced trance he was in. "Gir?! You have no reason to be down here right now. Why did you follow me?" "I was tryin' to scare youuu. Me and Y/N. But she heard you talking and went home. Maybe you scared her!" Zim could feel the blood in his veins run cold. "Bad Gir, very bad Gir, why did you let her down here?!" The alien boy scolded, worry flooding his brain. "When did she leave, Gir? Right now?" Before Gir could give a response, Zim took the elevator back up to ground level and ran towards the front door. "Y/N! Hey, wait up!" She kept walking. "Y/N!" Zim struggled to catch up. "Y/N, I ordered you to stop! Why are you leaving?" She stopped, suddenly, causing Zim to, as well. "You think I didn't hear anything of that conversation down there? You were going to trade me in to some planet out there for a weapon?!" She had multiple tears streaming down her face and something inside Zim shattered at seeing her like this. "Y/N, this is not how I imagined today to go. I have been looking forward to the time we spend together, especially after we decided to..." He trailed away, realizing that the girl he so desperately wanted to protect from himself now wanted nothing to do with him.

"Do you think I believe anything you say now?" Y/N asked quietly, pain buried in her words as she took a step closer to Zim. "No, I do not expect you to. But I am being nothing besides truthful when I say you are the only human I care about on this planet. I desire nothing from anybody. I could have remained angry and solitary just fine, but I found you, and you changed everything for me. The human I offered to the Irken corporation was the Dib. A long time ago. Before I even met you. My leaders just found out today that I had even attempted to try." She stood dumbfounded, fear invading her thoughts just as this alien had invaded her planet, her life, her mind. "You weren't sent here to study my race." She stated, her lips quivering and her words unsteady. "No." Zim stared after a pause. "I was sent here to destroy it."
