I was on my way to Director Ava Paige's office to talk to her about the next teenagers being sent into the glade. When I made it to her office I knocked before going inside to see her finish talking to Janson through the hologram.
"Yes, Abbie?" She asked me when she noticed me walking in.
"I just wanted to talk to you about the teens were sending next into Glade A, Director Paige." I said.
"You can call me Mrs. Paige instead." She said before gesturing me to go on.
"Why are you sending Thomas and Teresa?" I asked remembering when I passed by their rooms to see them empty.
"They can help the gladers that are already in there so they could proceed to the second trial." She said.
"Would they be joining them for the second trial?" I asked.
"Thomas will, Teresa will stay with us." She said.
"I presume that I'll be staying too." I said and she nodded her head.
"Why think this ahead for the plan when they haven't been sent?" I asked.
"We need to be ahead no matter what, that's what you used to say before we sent you in." She said and I thought back, 'The time they sent me before getting me back.'
"All of this for..." I began to say before she cut me off saying, "All this for a cure against the Flare. I thought you understood this?" She questioned me.
'I did before going into the maze then coming back out and getting my memories back to see the faults in this.' I thought while I just nodded at her.
"If, per say, we get the cure from the trials. Who would be the one's to get the vaccine?" I asked.
"We're not sure but why are you asking this?" She asked me.
"We wouldn't have enough for everyone who lives in the city AND in the Scorch if you were gonna help them." I said looking out the window to see the walls we were surrounded by.
'The irony of this.' I thought.
"We'll figure something out. Just trust us." She said and I nodded my head before walking out of her office to head to my lab.
'How can I trust her when she said the same thing to me before she took my memories away and sent me into the maze before taking me back and giving my memories back to me, what was that whole point?' I thought to myself before thinking about the first memory I made in the Glade.
-Flashback-
I woke up laying in a metal cage surrounded by boxes. I looked up to see some doors open to reveal a group of teenage boys looking back at me. before the open the latches and one jumped down.
"Gally, what is it?" Someone asked who I presume is Gally.
"It's a girl." He said looking at me when I stared in curiosity at him.
"I call dibs." Someone said.
"She's hot." Someone else said.
"Adorable." Another said.
"Move away from the box." Someone yelled out.
"Gally get her out." An accented voice said before the Gally person helped me out when I saw the owners of the two last voices looking at me.
"Everyone go back to your jobs." The darker male said before coming towards me.
"Hi there greenie, my name's Alby. I'm the leader here." He said before shaking my hand.
"I'm the second in command. Name's Newt." The other male said with an accent before also shaking my hand.
"Do you by chance remember anything?" Alby asked me.
