Chapter 6

Abbie's POV
Leon sat me down before explaining to me what happened to Nick with being stung and all.
"It's weird considering that it's almost dinner and this happened. Grievers are typically out at night." He said and I nodded my head.
"And there's no treatment to get him better?" I asked.
"Nothing that we know of." He said and I nodded my head.
"About the banishment, what's gonna happen to him?" I asked him.
"I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell you." He said and before I could respond another voice spoke up, "I'll tell her, go outside and prepare with the others."
I looked up to see Newt coming into the hut when Leon nodded his head before walking out of the hut to let Newt replace his spot.
"So you're gonna tell me what'll happen to him?" I asked and he nodded his head.
"How s banishment is pushed through here, is forcing the glader out into the maze. Everything there depends on their survival which is always them dying in there because of the gladers." He said and I slowly nodded my head in shock with how cruel it is.
"Now the question is will you come with me to the banishment or are you gonna just stay here?" He asked. It took me a few minutes to answer before I spoke up, "I'll stay here."
He nodded his head before walking away and letting me stay in my thought of trying to get what it would look like out of my head. I stayed in my place for a few minutes thinking before walking over to the cabinets to look if I needed to organize anything. A few minutes of staring at the cabinet, I heard a scream from outside before it became silent and another few minutes for some footsteps before I saw Newt.
"Ready for dinner?" He asked and I nodded my head.
