Bad Timings // Dan Howell X Reader

Y/n's POV

My hands flail as I gasp for a breath, but struggle to breathe in the air, obviously, I swim to the top on the pool and suck in as much air as I can

"You almost died under there" Dylan chuckles, I slap his arm

"I was perfectly fineeeee" I retort laughing at him, I take the opportunity to splash his face with water, he gives me a 'omg how dare you' look before chasing after me splashing me the whole time.

~Let's take a pause here: this is a month later, it is now early June. Dylan is a new friend of mine I met because of a silly incident in a coffee shop, it's your clique boy-spills-coffee-on-girl but this had a twist. I purposely spilled MY coffee on HIM, yano he was cute and I needed new friends. BACK TO THE PRESENT!~

"Aahhh" I jump out of the pool and run to my towel before completely engulfing myself in the warmth and dryness of its soft material. Dylan slowly makes his way towards me with a smile on his face

"You're stupid" he boops my nose with his finger, I stick my tongue out at him

"You're a dork" a certain memory of Dan flashes through my head, the first time he booped my nose I said and did the exact thing, I shake my head to evaporate the memory, Dan is not in my life anymore.

Dylan's POV

She's gorgeous and so grounded, honestly the most kind and generous person I've ever met. But I know she's still in love with Dan and I won't be able to change that.

Not yet anyway.

Y/n's POV

Later in the day Dylan and I head out to a restaurant to have dinner, we don't go anywhere fancy because that isn't us at all. We decide to go to Wagamama's since it is his favourite. This whole week we are in Amsterdam for a holiday, I wanted some time to get away from everything and since Charlotte is visiting Phil in.... wherever they are now she couldn't come. So I invited Dylan along and to my excitement he said yes.

This is our second day in the city, we spent most of yesterday traveling, checking into the hotel and then sleeping. Today it is time to explore.

The sun blares through the trees, it's starting to get warmer since it is closer to summer, I love the warm weather, it's so relaxing and peaceful, I love the thought of just sitting on a cliff side in a car with the roof down, looking at the sunset with my best friends, or a boyfriend

It just sounds so lovely and I cannot wait for that day, as soon as Charlotte gets back that is what we are going to do, I don't care if she doesn't enjoy it.

Dylan and I walk through a park and up onto a small hill, I take off my shoes and run them through the soft grass, everything is just so peaceful.

"It's so nice here" I whisper

"It is isn't it" Dylan sits up beside me,  curious I sit up too and look at him, our eyes lock "y/n" he breathes out

before he says anything else I connect my lips with his.
