Wastelands → Newt [Movie Trilogy]

30 → "DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME"

The group split up as soon as they'd made it out onto the streets of the Last City. Newt and Gally split up and headed toward the back entrance of the WCKD building, while Thomas stayed alongside Teresa as he escorted her toward the front entrance. In that time, Frypan would take his position and Adeline and Brenda headed toward the Maintenance Terminal of the WCKD building. Adeline followed behind Brenda, gun in her holster, as they slowly descended down the side of parked busses. But, as they are about to move around the front of one of the busses, Adeline catches the sight of a group of soldiers milling about. In a rush, Adeline stops Brenda by the sleeve of her coat.

"Brenda!" Adeline whisper - yells, and Brenda comes to a stop. "There's soldiers everywhere."

"Shit." Brenda curses. "Stay low."

"What're we gonna do?" Adeline whispers. Brenda peers back at her momentarily, but before she can give an answer to Adeline's question, there was the cackling of both their Walkie Talkies.

"Brenda. Adeline." Thomas' voice comes through. "What's your status?"

"Status is, we're working on it." Brenda replies back, both girls still trying to get past those soldiers, who continued to mill about the busses by the Maintenance Terminal.

"Copy. Just make sure you're both ready on your end."  Thomas states.

"Don't worry." Brenda replies. "You know we're gonna be there."

Both peer over the side of the busses, where the soldiers had finally dispersed away. Brenda motions for her to follow, and both take off on both of their feet by the side of the numerous busses. Minutes later, they manage to stumble upon a running bus, and Brenda motions for her to get inside. Getting to one of the seats, Adeline watches Brenda as she manages to get the bus into drive.

"Brenda, can you even drive a bus?" Adeline questions the girl, who only gives a smirk as she steers the bus out and into the underground car space, under the building. Adeline, who has begun to experience more physical symptoms since she'd lashed out at Teresa earlier, grips the seat in front of her as the bus speeds down a small ramp and past numerous cars.

"Brenda. Adeline." Gally's voice calls. "Where are you? We're here."

But, as soon as Gally's voice bellows through the device, Brenda slams her foot on the brakes, lurching both of them forward. Racing around the corner, dressed in full uniform being followed by twenty eight teenagers, is Gally.
